Wedding Lingerie and Nightwear
Bridal lingerie may possibly be the most important lingerie a girl will ever buy. Every bride wants her wedding day (and night) to turn out extra special. So buying that sexy bridal lingerie can rank in the same order of importance as the dress itself. It's all very well having yards of smooth shiny satin and lace making her the perfect fairy tale bride only to spoil the whole effect with a poor choice of lingerie. If the bride to be gets it right in the lingerie department then she is surely off to a great start.

So, will it be romantic delicate silk or soft satin for a night of unbridled passion? Many innocent young brides prefer the idea of pure silk lingerie which is feminine and delicate next to the skin. After all silk is a truly natural fabric which possibly explains why it feels so good on the body. Silk lingerie also moves in a certain way, caressing the body lightly but comfortably as the wearer moves around making it ideal fabric to wear under that gorgeous pure white wedding dress.

There are lots of new brides who would rather wear luxury lace. The most popular choice being a pure white satin basque or all in one body shaper with built in suspenders for those silky white bridal stockings. The great thing about this type of lingerie is that it has a flattering effect and gives a smooth seamless shape under the wedding dress.

Then of course there is the wedding night to consider. Will she be undressing in front of her partner or will she change into her wedding trousseaux before getting into the marital bed? If the bride is looking to treat her new husband then a corset & stockings is probably the way to go. Don't devalue however the romantic allure of an pretty babydoll or matching robe & chemise in a silky soft material There is still something very feminine and romantic about this kind of nightwear trimmed with lace or satin ribbon especially the way it looks and feels against the body.

Obviously different styles will suit different brides (and their partners) tastes so don't be tempted to rush into making a purchase just for the sake of it. If you spend as much time choosing your bridal lingerie as you do your dream wedding dress the end result is sure to be perfect. Many brides will take the lingerie they have chosen to the bridal salon to be sure that the dress and lingerie go together perfectly. It's worth remembering that it can be a long day so comfort should play a major part in your bridal lingerie purchasing decision too.

Of course finally lots of fun can be had in choosing outfits and costumes for the hen night, where you can be as crazy as you want with your choices. Just make sure you enjoy yourself and have a great time, and if you cant be good, be careful!

Sexy Costumes - Whats Stopping you?
Sexy costumes are a wonderful way to add some zing to your sex life. Many women, though, are hesitant to indulge in them and men are even less likely to make the purchase as a gift for the bedroom. Why? There are several reasons that people are reluctant to try out sexy costumes, fear of feeling silly, fear of being laughed at and fear of being outright rejected because of desiring to indulge our fantasies.

So what to do? First of all, bring up the subject of sexy costumes with your partner. Knowing a bit about how he or she feels about an exotic bustier or a French maid outfit goes a long way toward conquering fears. You will probably be delighted to learn that your lover has some fantasies of his or her own that could be fulfilled by wearing costumes. After all, we’re all human, and we all have fantasies.

Discussion is a great way to go to the next step of suggesting giving sexy costumes a try. Unless your partner has totally rejected the idea (and if he or she has, remember that your partner is rejecting the notion of sexy costumes, not you), ask if your partner would like to buy some to give the idea a whirl. Since you already know that your partner is interested or curious about that strapless bustier or some sexy costumes, you can be sure that you’ll get a yes.

Now where do you go? A great way of shopping for sexy costumes would be for both of you to slip into robes, open a bottle of wine and go online. One quick search will provide you with a tremendous number of sources for sexy costumes. Browsing through sexy costumes will help relieve any lingering anxieties either of you may have about using costumes to add some spice to your bedroom activities. There are so many choices that you’ll see how common dressing in sexy costumes is, and playing out your fantasies will seem like a pretty normal thing to do.

Doing your browsing and shopping together also helps you talk about your fantasies. This is a great way to learn more about your partner and what turns him or her on. Who knew he had a thing for nurses? Who knew she had a thing for pirates? You may find out you both have the same fantasy, which is wonderful. The more you know about your partner, the better you can please him or her. Maybe you can start with sexy costumes for a shared fantasy, then later move on to taking turns trying different costumes so that each of you have a chance to live out your fantasies, because that’s what sexy costumes are designed to do - help you indulge your saucy side. With the right partner and the right costumes, who knows what might happen - and isn’t that part of the thrill?

The Babydoll Nightie
The history of babydoll lingerie & nightwear is quite short because the babydoll has been in existence for less than 100 years.

The first versions of the babydoll nightie came into existence during the 1930s and the 1940s. The ancestors of the babydoll nightie were the lace-trimmed bed jackets and frilly bed capes that women were known to wear back then, which at that time sported a hemline ending at about six inches above the knee, which is pretty much as is the Babydoll nightie of today.

The name "babydoll" for this type of lingerie is said to be derived from the nightgown worn by Carroll Baker in the 1956 movie entitled "Babydoll". The example shown by Baker in the movie led to the growth in popularity of the babydoll nightie among the general public.

Eventually, the babydoll started to be used as a type of daywear. But soon they re-evolved into a bedroom-type of nightwear as most styles were re-designed to become more provocative in appearance, with front opening styles adorned with ribbons and lace.

These days, modern babydoll nighties are sold with matching knickers in the same colour and style. Alot of styles are more conservative and low-key in appearance, and worn regularly as a nightie. Of course there are still many provocative styles of babydoll nighties such as open cup or peekaboo styles for those that wish to spice up the bedroom a little!

Babydoll lingerie and nightwear, as the name suggests, evokes an image of youthful innocence so hence why many people tend to buy babydoll nighties for their partners and themselves. which in turn has kept the babydoll nightie in fashion since its debut  in the 30's & 40's!

Glossary of Lingerie & Nightwear Terms

Babydoll Nightie
A babydoll is basically a short nightdress worn with panties underneath. Short, sleeveless, loose fitting nightgown or negligee intended as nightwear for women. It usually consists of formed cups with an attached loose fitting skirt falling in length between the hips and the belly button. The garment is often trimmed with lace, ruffles, appliques, Marabou fur, bows and ribbons, optionally with spaghetti straps. Sometimes it is made of sheer or translucent fabric like nylon or chiffon or silk. The garment's hemline is usually about six inches above the knee like a minidress and may have a scoop-neck. Usually panties are worn underneath

Basques & Bustiers
A Basque an article of lingerie, particularly styled as a torso-hugging camisole that resembles a corset (typically featuring decorative front or back lace-up detail), but of more delicate construction and offering little or no figure moulding compression. The Bustier is similar to a Basque. but shorter reaching only down to the ribs its primary purpose to push up the bust and gently shape the waist doubling up as a push-up bra for inner wear and as a camisole for outer wear.

Bodystocking
A bodystocking is an article of lingerie, similar to a leotard or a catsuit. It is much the same thing as a unitard, but the term bodystocking is likely to be preferred when the garment is worn as an underlayer in cold weather. Body stockings are often crotchless, made from a sheer fabric similar to those used for stockings and tights, or from fishnet material. Some people consider bodystockings to be a sexy garment.

Bodysuit
Snug fitting one-piece garment similar to a leotard with legs but may or may not have sleeves.

Boyshorts
Also known as boy short panties, boys' cut, booty shorts, shorties or boyleg briefs are a sort of lingerie that goes all the way down the hips. They are a relatively new, but increasingly popular style of lingerie among women and are named for their similarity in looks to men's shorts. Boy shorts often cover most of the buttocks area, but this is not always the case with thong-back lingerie also widely available.[citation needed] Boy shorts are a popular choice since most of them may avoid displaying a prominent visible panty line provided they don’t ride up, and yet are a modest and comfortable alternative to thongs and panties.

Bra
The bra is considered a foundation garment, as well as an undergarment, because of its role in shaping the wearer's figure. It was originally developed in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to replace the corset, and has now become, in many parts of the world, the most popular form of undergarment for the upper body.
The bra may be worn to support and enhance breast shape during everyday activities and a specialized bra, the sports bra to support and restrain breasts during exercise. The bra may also be worn to observe modesty or to present a certain image of femininity. Bras are typically designed to lift the breasts into a particular position, for a more youthful look or for enhancing cleavage. These roles are sometimes conflicting. Some designers aim at producing a garment that fulfills a practical role as well as making it look attractive.

Camisole
A camisole or cami is a woman's underwear which covers the top part of the body. It is sleeveless and tight fitting in contrast to a loose-fitting chemise. A camisole is sometimes worn cropped allowing midriff exposure, but often covers the entire torso.
A camisole can be worn over a brassiere or without one. Some camisoles come with a built-in underwire bra which eliminates the need for a bra among those who prefer one. Recently, camisoles have been known to be used as outerwear

Chemise
Usually a short nightgown hemmed below the hip but above the knee. Held up by thin straps, the gown should fit snugly at the bust and upper torso and fall loosely and flow flatterringly past the hips

Corset
A corset is a garment worn to mould and shape the torso into a desired shape. While modern "corsets" and "corset tops" often feature lacing and/or boning and generally mimic a historical style of corsets, they are not as tightly 'moulding' as the original styles, but still offer shaping qualities without the risk of passing out!

Crotchless
Crotchless underwear can be a fun addition to your love life. Can be worn to display the body or genitals in certain ways, while some are intended to provide genital stimulation as well.

Denier
This is the thickness of one thread of nylon used in making hosiery. The lower the number in denier, the lighter and finer the yarn, and thus the sheerer the stocking. 15-denier fabric is very thin and transparent. A hair from the average human head is about 50 Denier.

G String
A G-string is a type of thong, a narrow piece of material that covers or holds the genitals, passes between the buttocks, and is attached to a band around the hips. A g-string has less material between the legs and bottom than a Thong.

Plus Size
An extra long or "oversize" clothing size. Plus size clothing generally begins at about size 16 upwards.

Stockings
Are a form of women's hosiery configured as 2 pieces, which are worn with a suspender belt or garter. Hold up stockings are able to stay up on their own without the need for suspenders.

Teddie/Teddy
Lingerie item that combines a camisole with a panty. A teddy can be fitted to the body or loose and is worn either under clothing or as sleepwear. A combination of camisole and panty with high cut legs and usually a thong in back, however, some risqué styles may use a G String back.

Thong
Thong underwear and swimwear is a style characterized by a thin strip of material along the centre of the garment's rear, designed to sit between the wearer's buttocks connecting the front or pouch to the waistband behind the wearer.Thongs come in a variety of styles

Tights
Tights are a type of fabric leg covering, usually extending from the waist to feet, and fitting as tightly as possible to the body. Styles of today also feature footless versions
