I AM NOT DEAD !
Hello Bloggers,
Despite the best of intentions when I began this blog, it would appear that there isnt actually alwys that much to report about my life in Buxton.
Had a great weekend off work. Went into Manchester to see my brother, went to Chapel to see the in-laws and to hospital to see my other halfs' grandma who has just had her knee replaced.
Buxton was great today, lots of people out and about now that the weather has improved.... slightly!

WHAT I DID TONIGHT
Went to install Wireless broadband for my brother in law. My little niece, as always, was an absolute delight, and had remembered to draw at picture at playschool of herslef, pushing my dog in a pram.
I believe her style would be considered "abstract". Thankyou Aimie, your 1st picture for us is to take pride of place in our house....
Installed the internet for her daddy, and showed him the rudimentaries of navigating the web, sending email, created a facebook profile .. just the basics.
Had a lovely chinese meal, and then drove home... from chapel. The phone rings, and yes you guessed it, he had "done summat", and it no longer worked...... Oh well.
Was most upset to hear that Russell Brand has been found to have misled listeners to his Radio Show. Money, it's such a corrupting influence!
Anyway, thats my evening. Oh yes, I have come to a decision.
I am going to grow a beard!
Talk at you Soon,
TTFN

BANKS - WHAT A RIP OFF
I THOUGHT THAT YOU HAD TO BE CLEVER TO WORK IN A BANK.... HOW WRONG I AM.
MY BANK RETURNED 3 DIRECT DEBITS, WHICH TOTALLED 109 POUNDS. THEY THEN CHARGED ME 114 POUNDS, AND EVEN WITH THIS CHARGE I WAS STILL IN CREDIT..... THEIR REASON???? BECAUSE I SHOULD HAVE HAD THE MONEY IN TO PAY THEM THE DAY BEFORE.
I AGREE, BUT THEY TRANSFERRED 2X 100 POUND PAYMENTS TO MY SAVINGS THE DAY BEFORE WHICH TOOK ME OVERDRAWN....
IDIOTS... COMPLETE IDIOTS!!!!
I CALLED INTO MY BRANCH, (ITS THE BANK THAT SAYS THERE IS ANOTHER WAY), AND THEY PASS YOU FROM PILLAR TO POST.
THEY REALLY ARE A BUNCH OF INCOMPETENT LAZY SPINELESS BANKERS!!!!
ANYWAY, I HAVE HAD A QUIET DAY AT WOTK, BUXTON WAS A BIT BUSIER THAN IT HAS BEEN OF LATE, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE SUN WAS SHINING FOR PERHAPS THE 1ST TIME THIS YEAR, ALTHOUGH IT IS STILL VERY COLD.
OFF TO MY BROTHER IN LAW'S TONIGHT TO INSTALL HIS WIRELESS BROADBAND. PERHAPS I CAN INTRODUCE HIM TO THE JOYS OF BLOGGING.
ANYWAY THATS ALL FOR NOW

The BuXton Factor
As promised, here are all the details you'll need regarding The BuXton Factor
The BuXton Factor
is a new entertainment event for the town (based on a well-known format!), organised by students from the University of Derby Buxton, who have scoured the town and surrounding areas to find the 16 singers, dancers and instrumentalists who will form the line-up for tonight’s Grand Final. The auditions and eliminations are over, and the final eight ‘under 16s’ and eight from the ‘16 and over’ category will battle it out to become BuXton’s two ‘Factor’ fantastics of 2008.
The audience will have their vote, too – will they agree with the verdict of the panel? And just who will be the first two winners of this brand new exciting contest? Come and find out!
In aid of Cancer Research UK, Unique and the Opera House Children’s Theatre Appeal.

WELCOME TO BUXTON.... ITS RUBBISH
Anyone, whether a resident of Buxton or just visiting, will have travelled along Fairfield Road. I know the road well, as I walk it to work almost every day. This is one of the main aterial roads into our amazing town, but how much of a welcome is it?
The continuous array of discarded household items, along with broken prams, shopping trolleys, bottles bags and cans really taint what for many is their first impression of Buxton.
OK once into town they are on the whole treated to a largely clean, safe and welcoming area. We all know how clogged up Fairfield Road gets in the summer, so lots of people will sit for many minutes in their cars crawling into Town. I love living in Buxton, I try and take a pride in where I live, Why cant everyone else?
If my fridge breaks down, I call the council, and they come and remove it. I dont leave it ouside my home like a decorative pot plant, hoping that within a couple of weeks, it'll blend into its surroundings.
If you live in Buxton, I urge you to just take a look when you walk down Fairfield Road.
Anyway, thats my 1st blog. I have the luxury of unfettered internet access at work, so I will hopefully be able to update my blog at least once a day. It wont all be doom and gloom and the ongoing moans of a saddo with too much time on his hands.
Oh yes, by the way...... Please buy a ticket for The BuXton Factor at Buxton Opera House on 11th Februray 2008. One of the 3 charities nominated, is Cancer Research UK, the charity I work for. If you'd like to know more, please read my next blog...... TOMORROW.
