Thoughts
Long time no type! Been so busy recently and I havent had time. So if I have any readers out there, apologies for the neglection. Here goes....

On Sunday, I went into Southsea. Hit the shops first with an empty purse so knew I couldnt buy anything and I met up with my mum down there. I went into Debenhams and was shown the ground floor which was full of sale rack of clothes and I have discovered something. If I stick to the basement, I can afford to shop in there. Woohoo! Which I am so glad of! Cant wait to go there with some money lol.

After going in Debenhams, me and my mum parted ways. (We were in there quite a while so it wasnt a flying visit). I walked down to Southsea, sat on the common and eat my lunch. After that I walked across the common to the large war memorial. Ive not looked at in years and forgot how inspiring it is. After that I braved the weather and walked alongside the beach. The beach was empty but lots of people were walking along the path. The wind was fierce and everybody was getting sprayed with the sea, but because it was warm I wasnt complaining. I walked along the Millenium Pathway towards the Hot Walls. When I got there, I was surprised at what I saw. There were a group of 3 lads diving off the platform into the water. This platform has steps leading down to it and looked very slippery. The waves were fast and high. There was a young lad who couldnt have been more than 6 years old watching and it made me sick to the stomach. Why would people risk their lives for a momentary lapse of concentration. I kept thinking of the pictures I had seen in the paprer of Sonny Wells and I thought to myself and I hate myself for thinking it but what if it happened to them. How would they feel? How would the people who were braving the weather feel if that was how the rest of their Sunday panned out with them watching Paramedics appear. Im not sure why, but I sat there until they had gone, just so I could make sure they were Ok. After a while they stopped but what made them do it in the first place. I wish for their sakes they dont do it again. Its a dangerous game which may end in tears or worse. Anyone who reads this who knows someone who enjoys "tombstoning", please show it to them.

Once I finished at Southsea I walked along to Gunwharf Quays and from there along past the sports ground and found myself in Guildhall Square. I went and looked at the War Memorial there also and I noticed some people skateboarding in there. Each to their own and all that but it didnt stop me thinking that perhaps Victoria Park may have been a better place. As I came out of the memorial I saw a sign stating that skateboarding and rollerblading is prohibited. What a shame that people dont take notice of these signs. They are there for a reason, but surprise surprise they are not getting read. As for the war memorial, its a beautiful structure with some nice words embossed on the walls. Its a fitting tribute.

Preparations to tie up the walk are well under way. We have been back for just over 2 weeks now and donations are still coming in which is fantastic. It feels bizarre being back but am slowly getting used to it. I stayed in a hotel every night and I loved it. Cant wait to stay in one again. Wondering if I get a job in one, I could move into one? Mmm, now there's an idea.......

Anyways, thats enough for now. Ive bored you long enough. Type to you soon.

Recent Events

First of all, before I write the rest of this blog, I have to congratulate 5 people who done a fantastic job last week……..Jeremy Fox, Howard Baldwin, Ian Buzzard, Colin Rogers and Roger Labrum. Last week was Destination Dover in which these people walked from Farnham to Dover – a total of 131 miles along the North Downs Way in aid of Wessex Heartbeat and St. Francis School in Fareham. They did incredibly well and we had a brilliant week. The monies and praise are still flooding in and they couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. Well done you guys, I’m so proud of you! For more information and a report on the walk, visit www.destinationdover.btik.com

Isn’t this weather marvellous! Absolutely loving the summer so far. Last week I got to spend it in the countryside and I have come home with a tan, well a glow at least. The ice-creams are out, the smell of barbecues are in neighbouring gardens and everybody is rushing to the beach. I don’t blame them, I certainly would be if it wasn’t for work. Just make sure use a high factor sunscreen. Last week I used Factor 30 and re-applied every 20 minutes and even though I got a tan, I am still suffering slightly now. Please take this as a warning as it could do well for you.

I find myself remembering my days at school at the moment because it is the time of year where people are doing their GCSE’s. It’s been nearly 7 years since I left school. Do I miss it? Yes and No. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy working and paying my own way, etc but I do miss not spending all day with my friends and getting up to mischief at the weekends, although I get up to mischief now, its not the same. My younger brother is off to his prom soon so he has been preparing for that. But do you know what the annoying thing is? He needs his haircut because he is starting to look like Russell Brand. I’m tempted to plait it everytime I see him, but he’s having none of it. Never mind though.

I read about David Godbold, the Pompey Fan who lost his life to Cancer this week. I didn’t know him personally but was moved by his story. My best wishes go out to his family. Its nice to read that he got to meet his heroes before he passed away. No doubt that was a highlight for him. His story moved a lot of people I know, so I hope that his family realise he managed to touch people’s hearts that he didn’t even know about. All the best to you all.

Anyway, its time for me to finish this blog for tonight. Type to you soon, people. Thanks for reading.

POMPEY!
I am relishing in the feeling of being right as it doesn't happen very often! Lol. I was right about Pompey and Manchester United. What a week for Football!

POMPEY are the best! Well done to the boys in blue. You all done great! I knew Kanu would be the one to score. I should have put money on it. I watched the match in my workplace's bar. I wrapped a flag around my legs like a sarong and donned a bright blue wig. I looked a right sight. Lol. Still, I wasn't the only one. When the match finished we all went outside screaming and shouting, running over to the buses revealing the result. That was fun! Last night saw the Champions League Final. Well done, Man United, I knew you could do it. I wasnt right about who would score though but was right about the winner. It's been a great week for football and I'm glad I got to see the matches.

Just over a week until I'm off to the North Downs for my fundraising event. Lots to do and I cant wait. Once again if you want to sponsor us our Justgiving address is
www.justgiving.com/destinationdover and our website where you can find out lots of imformation about it is www.destinationdover.btik.com .

Thats all for tonight people.

Long time no type!
Its been a while since I blogged and I've had people asking me where I been and why I haven't blogged in a while. Truth be told, I have no idea! So here goes.......

Summer is on its way! Or at least thats the impression I'm getting. For the past couple of weeks, I have been going into Southsea on Sundays for a walk. I got sunburnt! I couldn't believe it. I looked like Rudolph and its a few months too late for that! My freckles are also starting to re-appear. That always happens in the Summer. I've seen people sunbathing at the hot walls. But Britain wouldn't be Britain if we didn't have rain in the Summer. I was out in Southsea walking along the Seafront and all of a sudden the heavens opened! We were not anywhere near a shelter so we had to run like crazy until we came under a set of scaffolding. The downside is the scaffolding was only bout 6 foot wide. Me and my friends were under there and all of a sudden 7 clowns appeared and joined us. No, I didn't have sunstroke and yes, you are reading right, we made friends with some clowns! They were doing a sponsored walk in aid of a nursing home. I hope they done well raising money because they certainly brightened up a dull 10 minutes! And as for the rain, I'm not amused! There are slugs and snails everywhere. I dont like them!

I was reading tonight's paper and I read an article about a college student who collapsed on his course and lost his life. The article said that he had said hours before his death that it was going to be his "special day". He was happy, with friends. He was in the paper recently in a photo of supporters at the semi-final of the FA Cup. His dad is going to leave the seat next to him empty at the final in tribute. My thoughts go out to his family and I wish them all the best.

The FA Cup final is drawing nearer and nearer. On the eve of the FA Cup semi-final, it was Blue Day. I donned a blue wig, painted my nails blue and wore my uniform to work (its blue, anyway). I loved it. Got a few odd comments ie Marge Simpson etc but it was fun. I cant wait to do it all again. I have to work on 17 May, but I know that it will be a great atmosphere. I know Pompey will win and I know I'm gonna miss a great game. PLAY UP POMPEY! My ringtone is those very words. Lol.

My project was in the news last week. You may have read about it. Last Friday, page 27. There was a boy in there called Michael Proctor whom people are walking in his memory to raise money for Charity. Well that is my project. We are walking from Farnham to Dover, 131 miles to raise money for Wessex Heartbeat and St. Francis School in Fareham. We start on 2 June at 9:00pm. If you would like to support us in any way, please visit our website

www.destinationdover.btik.com or www.justgiving.com/destinationdover

All the details of the walk and the people taking part is on there.

On Ocean FM, Sport at 6 today they were talking about how the championship final between Machester United and Chelsea is being held in Russia and both teams playing are English. How does that work! Its a bit odd isnt it. How are they expecting fans to fork out a couple of grand each to go over to Moscow. Thats a lot of money. I love football but there is no way I could afford that! I also read this week that some people are in uproar over the Welsh National Anthem being played at the FA Cup Final. I want Pompey to win. Surely 1 minute of a song cannot be a bad thing. So what if they want to play their national anthem at the beginning of the match. We're still going to beat them so it doesn't matter.

I'm not one for knowing how to put things together so I was bit concerned about how I was going to put together my new Freeview box which my mum bought me. The first time I attempted it, I realised I needed a new aerial, so I bought one. The next time I spent an houur trying to figure out why it wouldnt switch on. It finally got to my 4th attempt when I realised that I had put the Skart lead in the wrong place. Oopz, that sounds like a "Katie moment". Lol.

Anyways, time to go. Type to you soon.

POMPEY!
WE'RE IN THE FINAL!!!

Well done, Pompey! What a triumph! I watched the match today! 1-0. Absolutely brilliant. Well done to harry and the boys. I have no doubt that they will win the final. I can't wait. I bet the atmosphere was amazing at Wembley. I couldn't go. :( I'm hoping to go to the final, just gotta see if I'm working or not. I celebrated Blue Day. I was the only one at work who did though. I donned a blue curly wig, painted my nails blue and my uniform is blue anyway. Loads of people in Park Parade took part and they looked fantastic. Its amazing what happens when get together to support a worthwhile cause. I hope loads of money got raised for the Tom Prince trust.

Anyway, this one was short and sweet but I couldn't not write about POMPEY, our boys in blue!

Today's thoughts
Everyone has gone Pompey CRAZY!

Do you blame them? I certainly don't! I'm looking forward to Pompey being at Wembley. I wish them loads of luck for the game. Unfortunately I cant go. :( I dont have the money to go but never mind. I like the idea of Blue Day! My work uniform is blue but not quite the blue of Pompey. I wonder if work will mind if I have blue extensions in my hair like the girl in the paper did. Hmm.....will speak to them tomorrow. Lol. I wouldn't have the guts to dye my hair blue though. I once had hair which was a midnight purple colour. I got called Wednesday Adams at the time which was funny. It suited me but I dont think Ill go for that colour again.

Are punishments for crimes too soft these days? I read in the paper today that there is a benefit cheat who has got to spend the next 52 years paying a rate of £22 per week! That seems relatively mild, but I suppose it depends on how severe it was. Some people get off quite lightly these days.

Despite seeing the end of a movie before the rest of the film, it hasn't put my friend and I off going to the cinema again. I think next time though we will be double checking and triple checking our film detials. We always have fun choosing our pic-a-mix though. I remember going to the cinema once and getting about £8 worth of pic-a-mix. Needless to say I ended up taking lots of it home.

I think I was too late to enter Moonlit Memories! :( I havent sent off the form and the money as I havent had the money to enter as yet. I would love to know when the closing date as I definitely want to take part. If anyone knows please get into contact me. I would really appreciate it.

Last Easter, me and my friends went to Hayling Beach, had a barbecue, sunbathed and hung out at the fair. It was certainly different this year. The weather wasnt as good but I still had a good Easter. I ate too much chocolate thought. Oopz. Oh well, never mind.

The preparations for the Destination Dover walk is going great. Not long left to go now. Got lots to organise but we're getting there. If anybody wants to help in any way, please get in touch via our website shown on a previous blog.

Anyway, time to go. Type to you soon.

Today's thoughts
Well, Pompey are getting closer and closer to Wembley! I cant wait. First the Hawks did amazingly well and it looks as if Pompey could win the cup! Brilliant. I didnt get my chance to be photographed with the cup in ASDA. :( Oh well, here's to another time!

On Saturday, I helped out at a Pre-Easter fete in Waterlooville, had a fantastic time and met some new people. I spent the afternoon in the Arts and Crafts room making and decorating boxes. My Art and Crafty side came out, proper Blue Peter and Neil Buchanan ideas coming out! The person who I helped that day, I know through a craft group I go to, she has told me now that she knows I can be Art and Crafty so I got no excuse but to produce masterpieces from now on.

On Saturday evening, I went to see "Bombed Out" at Park Community School with some friends. I absolutely loved it! It was a story based on a group of evacuees in Portsmouth, written by one of the performing Arts teachers of the school. It had comedy and tragedy, we were in tears at the end becuase it was so moving. The singers and dancers certainly entertained us with their unique performance. Thank you, Park Community School for another fantastic show!

My sponsored event that I am co-organising is drawing nearer and nearer, commencing in June for a week. Lots of things left for us to do! I cant wait! We are walking 130 miles over the North Downs on the duration of 7 days to raise money for Wessex Heartbeat and St. Francis School in Fareham. We would welcome any support, whether its sponsorship, publicity or just a message of support, we would love to hear from you. I have built a website about our campaign which is now up and running so if anybody wants to check it out, the site address is as follows:

www.destinationdover.btik.com

I've got this week off, not much planned though. On Monday I treated myself to a night out and went to see "Be kind, Rewind" at the cinema. Me and my friend got there, bought our Pick-and-mix and a drink. The ticket person said to go in because it was about to start, so we went and found the screen it was showing on. We got there and realised that it had already started, so we took a seat. We couldnt grasp the plot as such, but the next thing you know, 10 minutes later, the closing credits started rolling. We went back out and explained and it turns out we had watched the last 10 minutes by being sent in by mistake. We had no choice but to sit through the film again, feeling rather disappointed because once we had understood the plot we knew how the ending was going to be. :( My advice is double check times, etc, to avoid confusion!

Anyway, time's ticking on. Type to you soon. Thanks for reading.

Today's thoughts
PLAY UP POMPEY! PLAY UP POMPEY! WE'RE OFF TO WEMBLEY! Woohoo! Congratulations to the boys and blue!

It's official! Im now a "lovie". Or at least, thats what I think its called when you become a regular in plays (please correct me if that is not the right name!) In my friends play, I am set to play a stroppy teenager. The worrying thing is that they said I'm good at it in rehearsals. Lol. I havent been a teenager for 2 and a half years, I was hoping I left that behind lol.

Im slowly getting used to the idea of having the reservoir in Havant Thicket. We have had the exhibition at my workplace this week and I know so much information on it, its unbelievable. If it goes ahead, I do believe it will attract more visitors to Leigh Park. The people of Leigh Park may become prouder and look after Havant Thicket more than what they have done to date.

Im planning my volunteering opportunities now for the coming months. I got an event which Im helping at on Saturday with some friends. Ive signed up to volunteer at the Carnival, the Chichester Race-for-life and am hoping to get in touch with the people who do the events at Castlefield so if anybody knows how to get hold of them, please let me know.

My favourite radio station, Ocean FM, are promoting the recycling movement by holding a "Green Month" event at Southsea Common. I agree with all this recycling business but I realise that people arent doing it enough, so everybody get your fingers out and become green!

I was on TV! BBC South Today came along to film the exhibition at work on Saturday and I was in the background talking to one of the advisors about the Reservoir and the camera was pointing in my direction and caught me in the shot. I was on TV for about 4 seconds. Woohoo!

A topic of conversation that has been among myself and my friends from school is the sudden departure of our headteacher, Sean Dickinson, which you have no doubt read about in the paper. He is now too ill to work and has had to leave his job after 11 years. My year group were the first one he saw all the way through at Park Community School. He helped me a lot at school, as well as my friends. I went to see him on his last day and wished him all the best for the future. It saddened me to think that it is more than likely the last time I will see him. I will miss him at Park Community School, he did a lot for the Community and should be recognised for it. Good Luck, sir, we miss you already!

Anyway, time to go! Type to you soon.
