put this all together and its quite busy, then buy time you settle down to corry eastenders and traffic cop its time to get the kids to bed, quiet at last.........
then its hoochy time into the living room for the night,
enter hooch.... letts snuffle the whole living room for sweets or something droped from my 3 year old, then its time to go to watch over the fish who he recons are there to torment, then lets take a look at the two sofa and 3 sofa if the two sofa is a little cramped lets try the three sofa.... awwwwww just right to strech out on and push mum or a stray child still up past there bedime off it... much better all mine!!!!

I want excersize!
well hooch is suposto have a very short walk lazy type of activity lifestyle, but my lad being his happy normal doggy self wants to go for walks and enjoy an active life, when first diagnosed with hip dysplacia he was on no walks, but over time with him growing and aging he has showed no sines of late of being in pain or sore , its been over 2 weeks since hes needed any pain relefe, hes a lazy boy at heart but get him out on that leash and he becomes supper hooch! who would love to run and jump and get into the sea im sure, but he gets one gental walk a day, and thats about 20 minuts, but i do take him to the shops with me in the car to give him a change of senary, it does give for a funny picture, his big slobbery chops looking out at people in other cars, you can here thud thud thud as he does,, one big heavy tail wagging happily at people looking at him posing! yes posing my boy knows how hansome he is,, for eeal he sits there huge head held high his eyes looking down or up at all whos watching him, with a quiet air about him knowing he is being watched, and sometimes admierd.
people have difrent vews of my boy hooch, often he is looked upon as this big ugly beast that looks very scairy, yes he has a very menicing face when alert, but he is a sweet gental boy throgh and throgh, its like any dog i guess we all have our own ideas of what we make of each or seritan types of breed, hence me recearching my boy before i got him, a sweet natured night watchmans dog origannaly bread for watching for tespassers then to watch them closely without harm. and over the years the traits of watch dog has been bread out of the dogue, making him do what comes naturally, lazing loving and eating!! oh my do they eat, anything and everything with flavour.
then the is people who have never seen the breed in there life, and just do not know what sort of pooch he is, the is the sort of people who see him and know the breed too who will do what hooch really loves,,, come up to him in his face and give out loads of loving to him!

mr 14 month dribbles...
our boy is 14 months old now, aparently the ddb (dogue de bordeaux) can take upto 2 1/2 years to reach adulthood, well hes definatly still in puppy mode!
he has a very soft spot for our nabour she goes into her garden to weed her flower beds sometimes and out shoots hooch, its at this time you wouldent think the was anything wrong with him!!
he goes to the fence up to her snuffiling and gently mubiling to her she says hello hooch, then he just goes nuts running round the garden top very baggy saggy lips flapping up to his eyes and back down like wings revealing his teeth and gums as he goes! just like tom hanks first clip with hooch as he runs to him!
he runs round the garden then back to nabour again and again, and if you say go see (her name) he goes nuts again running rings round showing off just for her.(his face looking as if to say arnt i a clever boy (nabour) hes almost smiling too)
i reacerched the breed and knew the would be some things that came with my chosen breed. well hooch takes some to the extreeme, first is the snoring, i thoght my hubby power drill snoring could not be beaten i was wrong, hooch is so loud that you can here him upstairs at times as if he is in the room with you, and that drool, oh my one thing i have learnd through his drool is that if your going out for a night out on the tiles is to get dressed at last minut or your dress will be a mess of slime crunched up biscuits and well everything else he stores under them big flappy chops, looking like a snail and his family and there extended family have been smashed up on your best dress!
i know dogs fart occasonally but hooch would give any man who has eaten beans and curry for a week a run for his money, the dribble shoe lases are there at most times, but on a walk they can get quite frothy and well ... yukky, but thats all part of the pleasure of owning the dogue!

care dog?
with a good nature and such a good nature by that i mean i always thoght from as a wee pup my boy would do well as a PAT dog, (pets for theripy dog) as he loves everyone, its something that i always thoght he would do or we could do together, going into a nursing or hospital inviroment to say hello to brighten the day of the unwell or imfermed, its well known for its theriputic ways that pets do make healing and getting better work in some cases!
and i did look into it, offering your well mannerd pet up for comunity work sounds great, training is there, at a cost, but what the people get out of it is priceless,
this is still something within my mind that may happen within the future, as i do not think you can have too many PAT dogs!

hooch 12 months...
well our boy is now past the 12 month year mark, hes growing up large and has no serious problems as yet, the vet spoke of choices that dogs get when the get hip dysplacia, most get an operation, what hooch should get as soon as we can afford, on metacam (pain killers) he is already on, but at the moment never needs more than twice a week,
he has even grown extra bone in his elbows with the vet inspected and has not seen before, his balls of his hip sokets do not stick out anymore so we cant see that awfull big bulging ball that we could see, im hoping that the ball of the hip has worked its way back, but will get more x rays later on this year to see whats going onn.
I recon many others who have had dogs or even dogs all there lives think of there dogs as part of there family, and there dogs to themselves have funny silly and ways that make them uneque that makes them what or who they are,
well hooch hes mad, he is really a sweet silly kind of mad tho, its like if hes with me he is knowing im like the boss!! yet he looks at me with his big puppy dog eyes and knows just a silly look can melt my heart, yet he knows that with say my hubby he can jump up and wrap his big paws and arms around hubbys neck and cuddle him laying his huge head on his shoulder!
hooch loves people tho, see on a walk, well if he sees other dogs he will egnore the yapping of dogs or ones that pull to get to him, i think he knows his sheer size means he does not have to try and even make a noise to offend or warn dogs away!
yet a human comes near hes almost wetting himself to get close,, yet hes a real gentleman on the lead so wont pull my 10 stones allong dirt traks dubs and crap in my mouth as i go along, he will look up to me as if to say,, please mum can i go say hi!!!
but not everyone want a dog that weighs around 14 stones jumping all over them even if it is just to give them a big slobbery kiss.
got to admit even tho im female myself my boy is a real babe magnet!! one any man would be proud of!
i had him in the back of my car one day and i was getting him a new collor from the pet shop in inverurie, leving him in the car, but had to go back for him to fit it,, well the back of the car was surrounded in women pointing and looking in at a very bemused and happy hooch sitting looking out at them coking his huge head side to side showing his best features!

how it started
hi before i do start, i must state something, im dyslexic, with children who also suffer not only leaning dificulties but dyslexia themselves, so if bad spelling is something that you do not like or dont tolirate and think its lazy stupid etc, best go find a blog thats wrote by somone who is very good at there spelling etc!
The date 8th febuary of last year(07) is very spechal because on that day my boy Hooch was born. A sweet gental boy, who loves everyone and takes life onn knowing throgh his pain he is the most loved puppy in the world.
Hooch is no normal puppy that you could see any day, he is a rare breed Dogue De Bordeaux, These dogs are known for there drooling and snoring that would put a power drill to shame, his nature is the sweetest that you could imagine, his happy loving self means he loves everyone, this breed is also known for the film Turner and Hooch, so he has become already a very large lad even tho he is only 8 months old.
But from the bottom of my heart you would never meet such a sweet loyal caring lad.
Early this year my husband had asked me what i wanted for my birthday, and i told him "nothing" as im a happy mother who gets a bit embarrised for asking for gifts, we have four beutiful daughters who make me proud everyday, they have come throgh so much in there short lives, two of witch are registerd disabled, Hooch has made a world of difrence to my daughter sally and her learning dificulties, she has even managed a presintation at school about the Dogue De Bordeaux. her life has changed so much with hooch in her life the way she interacts with people, her school and abilitys.
Mark has known for a very long time that I loved the Breed, so in march when my birthday came round he told me that he was getting me this very spechal gift from him and the girls!
So a few weeks later sold to us as pick of the litter, Hooch came into our lives it was as if he was ment to be and was made for our family, a very inteligent young boy who was and still is willing to please, Hooch was housetraind within two weeks and can be even with his size a perfect gentleman on the lead, almost..... unless he sees his most favorate thing in the world, that would be children and people, he just loves everyone and everyone loves our hooch right back!
Over the following weeks his charictiure has shone through sometimes almost human in his ways, as the sweet sweet boy that he really is, his nature being one of care and love, always trusting, although he is only 8 months old he is a very big lad now almost as big as a woman, yet his cuddles and gental ways with children make me so proud of him, i do beleve a dog is what you make of him, but i also know Hooch has always had something extra spechal within him.
The last few weeks he has been stiff whilst getting up from sleep or lying down, witch the breeder told me could be growing pains or just because he is a large boy, and could be normal in giant breeds, yet the last three weeks this changes to one of looking stiff to actually walking funny as if his legs were twisting backward, his attitude to life changed too almost overnight, from the happy goofball sweet boy, he would sit there with his head bowd, but still the same sweet loving guy, this wasent right..so we took him to the vet who took a good look at my boy with a lot of prodding and pulling he took it all without a wince a cry or anything, the vets gave me painkkilers metacam as i explaind he was not himself, and arranged for xrays for the 5th of oct just gone, within a couple of days he was back to his happy fun self witch means my boy was in pain, how much we will never know but i pray to god that its not much, my heart felt like breaking thinking of him in pain, fryiday came round, that day is one of the worsed days of my life because we were told on picking our boy up from the vets after his xrays that he has the WORSE case of hip dysplacia they have EVER seen, i was breaking my heart and just a total wreck, i still am, as i hoped for a payment plan t o pay for any operation that may be needed but the vet that will carry out the op is in fife and needs the money up front, the may be more than one option for Hooch with the vet, it may be a full hip replacement he needs or an op where they remove the ball of the thiy bone, but i dont want his death to be an option. we asked the breeder if she would pay for his operation as we thoght she may feel that she was responcible for this hereditory desese, but she wont help us at all. I know its not always cheap or something everyone has got, but this has taght me a strong lesson, one i have held my own fault, is to get puppy insurance, if this story has made just one person get a puppy insurance on there pet in time and it helps them then this little story has been worth wrighting.
