That's more like it!!!
Well, after our awful awful start to the season, the past few games have been absolutely fantastic!
Owen
Coyle really seems to have gotten the lads firing on all cylinders,
with every area of the team looking strong and confident.
There
really is no better feeling than when you've beaten one of your local
rivals, so to have beaten two of them in the space of just over two
weeks is something special and bragging rights are ours for now.
I'm
still wondering how Preston player (?!) Jon Parkin has gotten the
amount of goals to date he has, the guy's humongous!! Surely the
fitness regime at Preston must be pretty lax because let's face it, his
strike partner for the day Neil Mellor won't be winning any slimmer of
the year awards either!
After
coming in for some unfair stick after the first two league games, both
Graham Alexander and Stephen Jordan are playing some fantastic footy at
the minute, and both of them are doing a fantastic job of keeping out
the players brought in over the summer in Van Der Schaff and Kalvenes,
who are going to have be very patient and grab the chance with both
hands when it comes to them.
Brian
Jensen, the marmite player of Burnley, is once again proving the
doubters wrong. How many keepers has he managed to push out so far now,
Coyne, Kiraly and now Penny?!
And
lets not forget about the rest of the team, Chris McCann is getting
better with every game, Joey Gudjonsson (what a goal!) is starting to
gel and Martin Paterson is looking very much the part up front.
We
also have some real quality to come off the bench as well these days,
Robbie Blake, Alan Mahon, Ade Akinbiyi, Chris Eagles, all players
capable of changing games, and lets not forget about young Jay
Rodriguez who could soon be pushing for a starting role soon if he
continues to progress like he has, what a cool head to finish like he
did against Fulham.
I
must say, going on the Turf in recent weeks has been a much more
enjoyable experience, and the singing section has been in full voice in
recent weeks, a brilliant idea from the club to implement this section,
long may the noise continue!
And
I couldn't finish this blog without mentioning the cup draw. What a
cracking tie that is! The chance to watch our Burnley team play at
Stamford Bridge against some of the world's best players. No matter
which team Chelsea put out against us, it's going to be a strong one
with internationals scattered all over the field.
I'm not too sure who I want in the next round though..... or am I getting a little carried away?!
Till next time!

Cup chance to put it right
I think it is fair to say that we got caught a bit cold on Saturday.
No one expects to concede two goals that quickly, and there is rarely any chance of getting back after such a bad start.
But the Clarets now have a chance to put it right straight away.
We have had some good cup runs recently and the money is always useful.
Can Bury cause us any problems. Let's hope not and then let's get through another couple of rounds and have a shot at a big money pay day.
Will we win?
What about our first home game on Saturday?
What do you think - let us know"

Ready for Kick Off
The days are ticking away and the tickets are safely purchased for Sheffield.
Like every other fan, I go into the season expecting great things - usually I am disappointed.
But this season feels different.
All the signings look great and there could still be more to come.
Then we get the chance to play in the League Cup on Tuesday, beat Bury and start earning some more money.
I have had a cheeky bet on a place in the top six - but where do you think the Clarets will finish?

Eagles has landed
I never believed it was going to happen.
Chris Eagles ... what a signing!
He was first rumoured to be coming three weeks ago and then Sir Alex took him to Africa and it all looked to be over.
Now he's signed. Fantastic!
But where is he going to fit into the starting line-up?
I cannot remember having so much competition for places.
Sure we've had loads of players before. But when that has happened half of them weren't worth peanuts.
Now the deadweight has nearly all gone and I'm off to the bookies to put some money on a top six finish. Do you know who is offering the best odds?
