CLLR MARK DUNN AND SCHOOL KITCHENS
The more Cllr Mark Dunn talks about School Kitchens (no relation to Karen Dunn, I hope!), the deeper the hole he digs himself to fall in ("Hot sc hool meal delays spark heated words", West Sussex Gazette (WSG), July 26).
Pity Crawley Observer - part of the same Johnston Press 'stable' as WSG - were silent about the subject this week...

CREEPY CRAWLIES ('Dunn&Dunners, Crawley Observer,
Earwigs are my problem - not 'Flying Spiders', aka 'Daddylonglegs' (Dunn&Dunners, C. Observer, Oct 3).
Probably earwigs have mothers who love them to bits, but my 'dark side' instantly and instinctively take over when I see one, and I can quite happily crush them to bits - if I can catch the evil little monsters.
Do earwigs scream in agony when they are crushed - but my ears just don't hear them ? Do I care ? No.
Bloodlust and disgust overwhelm me in that instant. 'Kill, kill, kill' are my only thoughts.
When the butchery is over, I make myself a cup of tea - with what I think is a very self-satisfied look on my face...my wife tells me differently.

LAURA MOFFATT MP AND HOT SCHOOL MEAL KITCHENS
Thank you to Crawley Observer's Letters Editor for including my letter "Friendly and positive" (July 12) - concerning my meeting with Laura Moffatt MP, and re-building school kitchens in Crawley. Hopefully, that should 'ruffle a few angel feathers' up there at County Hall and beyond. About time too.

HOT SCHOOL MEALS
It's good to see some quality reporting, at last, by a Johnston Press paper - about the 'Hot School Meals Scandal' in West Sussex :
WEST SUSSEX COUNTY TIMES (JULY 7 2006) : "School meals is 'too little too late' - What do you think?" et al.
What do I think ? I think I'm biased ! What do you think ?
