Lots of Talent
It's funny how things in life are often linked together in the strangest way.

Take for example our story this week on Britain's Got Talent star Bessie Cursons meeting her new classmates at The Petersfield School.

This was a great story in terms of something which has been in the national spotlight coming to our doorstep but the ITV show had already been the hot topic of conversation in the office this week.

I was able to reveal the inside story on Paul Potts' rise to fame after having dinner with his brother last Friday.

John Potts is a friend of the family and godfather to my sister's son and the talk over an Indian takeaway was all about his brother's rise to fame.

Despite the angle taken in some stories in the national press, Paul's story of a normal everyday bloke suddenly finding stardom is truly an amazing and heart-warming one.

He may have had lessons at Pavarotti's school in Italy but all of this was paid for out of his own pocket and was not done with the sole aim of entering this competition.

I must admit when he first appeared on stage and said he was going to sing I was thinking 'this guy is going to be as bad as the chicken farmer on X-Factor.'

But what came next when he sang Nessun Dorma simply blew everyone away. He has a truly amazing talent and was a worthy winner of the competition.

Then came tales of what happens at the live show - banners made by the production teams for families to wave around, blue comedians used to whip the audience into a frenzy during the advert breaks and the closeness between the fellow competitors and judges which built up as the show reached its climax.

Apparently the people of Bristol are enjoying meeting Paul Potts' mum at their local Tesco store at the moment - a special check out has been set up for customers who want to pay for their goods and chat to Mrs Potts.

You might have a long wait though as apparently the queues are very long!
