Blackhawks bounce back
The Hawks blasted 47 shots on goalcheap jerseys Wednesday to overwhelm the Edmonton Oilers and their goaltender, Devan Dubnyk, in a 5-2 win at the United Center. The Oilers delivered little return fire, yet their 14 shots were enough to sneak two goals past Cristobal Huet in a game that was tied heading into the third period. The Hawks (42-16-5) won their first home game since Feb. 13 and pulled even with the San Jose Sharks for the top seed in the Western Wholesale jerseys Conference.“I think half of it was just shaking off the rust,” Hawks captain Jonathan Toews said. The Hawks’ offense eventually polished up with three goals in the third period to surge past the doormat Oilers (19-38-6). Yet nothing shined about the Hawks’ goaltending situation, with Cristobal Huet surrendering goals on back-to-back shots in the second period to put the Hawks down, 2-1.Twenty-four hours earlier, Hawks coach Joelsoccer jerseys Quenneville had yanked Antti Niemi after he allowed three goals on 12 shots against the New York Islanders. Wednesday offered Huet a chance to win back the title as No. 1 goalie, but the team’s options felt more like “2A” and “2B” as boos rained down on the ice after Edmonton's second goal.“I don’t want to go to that ‘No. 1 goalie’ talk or anything,” Huet said softly after the game. “I just want to go out in the next game and have the chance to go on a roll. Tonight was the first step.”The Hawks’ rustnba jerseys started to shed in the second period, when Marian Hossa snapped a quick shot from the left circle that lifted above Dubnyk’s shoulder. That put the Hawks on top, 1-0, before Huet allowed what he called “questionable goals” by Robert Nilsson in front of the net and Shawn Horcoff from the left circle.Hawks center Dave Bolland tied the score, 2-2, on a perfect feed from Hossa at 18:03 of the second period to re-energize a sold-out crowd of 22,204 fans. Hossa was named the game’s No. 1 star for his efforts, which included two points on offense along with stellar defense.“I thought that ‘Hoss’ had a specialmlb jerseys game tonight, offensively” Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said. “Defensively, his back-side pressure was outstanding. He had the puck a lot.”Quiet defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson broke the tie – and the tension – 20 seconds into the third period. He fired a shot over Dubnyk’s right shoulder to snap his 49-game scoreless streak, and Dustin Byfuglien and Jonathan Toews added a pair of insurance goals later in the period to preserve the win.“It felt real good, actually,” Hjalmarsson said. “I just basically closed my eyes and I went for it.”When he opened his eyes, the puck was in the net and the Oilers looked ready to embrace defeat.“It pretty much felt like they gavenhl jerseys up, almost, after that one,” Hjalmarsson said. “It was pretty easy after that goal.”Nothing will come easy in the final 19 regular season games for the Hawks, who face a difficult test Friday against the Vancouver Canucks. The Hawks’ next nine games are against teams with winning records.“Tonight, as the game went along, we got much better and saw the way we can be as a team,” Toews said. “I think we got our legs, and we’re just getting our timing and the way we play the game back. I know we’ll be even more ready for Friday night’s game.”

Plan to push financial reform bill forward could b
Reporting fromjerseys Washington - Congressional attempts to pass the most sweeping overhaul of financial regulations since the Great Depression suffered a potentially devastating blow Thursday as the lead senator working on the legislation vowed to move forward next week without Republican support. With the legislative clock ticking and bipartisan talks stalling, Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.) said he needed to press ahead without the consensus legislation he has been seeking during weeks of intensive negotiations with Republicans. "The moment has arrived to put down a proposal," Doddcheap jerseys said about an overhaul that is a top priority this year for President Obama. Dodd said he was optimistic of passing a bill this spring that would dramatically restructure the federal regulatory system to avoid a repeat of the financial meltdown that sent the U.S. and world markets into a tailspin. But even though bringing a bill before his committee represents progress towardWholesale jerseys passing legislation this year, Republicans have the votes to stop any legislation in the full Senate if they don't like it. "A bipartisan bill is the most likely way to achieve success," said Scott Talbott, chief lobbyist for the Financial Services Roundtable, which represents large financial firms. "Without bipartisanship, the bill faces and uphill battle." Dodd's attempts to lure Republican support have been unsuccessful. He negotiated for weeks with Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.), the committee's top Republican, before reaching an impasse in early February. Dodd then began talks with Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), and their staffs have been working around the clock in recent days to resolve their differences. Although thesoccer jerseys talks have been fruitful, Dodd said Thursday "a few outstanding issues remain," and time is running out for the Senate to deal with a complex bill this year with mid-term elections looming. Dodd said he would unveil his latest draft of the legislation Monday, which will reflect Corker's input, and the committee would begin considering it the following week before lawmakers leave Washington for a two-week recess. Dodd promised to continue talks with Republicans in hopes of hammering out a bipartisan agreement. But there is strong opposition among Republicans, as well as the financialnba jerseys industry, of key aspects of the legislation. The House passed a sweeping overhaul in December without a single Republican vote. The House bill, which closely resembles the Obama administration's proposal, aims to prevent a repeat of the financial crisis by making major changes to the federal government's oversight of the industry. It would create an independentmlb jerseys agency to protect consumers in the financial marketplace, give the government broad new power to seize and dismantle large financial firms whose failure would pose a risk to the economy, allow regulators to break up firms they deem too large and expand oversight of the complex world of derivatives. Dodd, who is stepping down at the end of the year, promised that his bill would end the problem of institutions that are seen as too big to fail and require federal bailouts. "In the limitednhl jerseys time I have left before I retire, I'm determined to have that end," he said. But Republicans hold enough seats to filibuster any legislation, and failure to produce a bipartisan financial regulatory bill spells trouble for the White House. Obama had pushed Congress to pass the regulatory overhaul last year, and Democrats are eager for a legislative victory -- particularly one that directly addresses the causes of the deep recession -- as they head into congressional elections in November. "Given what the American people have lived through as a result ofnfl jerseys that economic collapse, I don't believe many [lawmakers] are going to want to go home and face voters next November not having done something," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said. "I think Republicans in the Senate are going to have to ask themselves why they would stand in the way of financial reform." Corker said Thursday that Dodd's role as a key player in trying to push through a major healthcare bill in the coming weeks led him to pull the plug on their talks even as the pair were close to final agreement. "I told himjerseys we're on the five-yard line; we can get this done, let's just keep our heads down," Corker told reporters. "There's no question that White House politics and healthcare have kept us from getting to the goal line." He said he was disappointed but would continue to work with Dodd. Corker said that with a push coming by Democrats to pass a healthcare overhaul using a controversial Senate procedure, Dodd wanted to move the financial regulatory bill through his committee first. Dodd said the healthcare bill was not the reason for moving ahead with his own bill. Rather, it was the dwindling days on the legislative calendar, which is shorter than usual because of the November elections. "The real problem I'm facing ischeap jerseys that clock," he said. In addition to his talks with Corker, Dodd assigned bipartisan pairs of senators to work on some specific parts of the legislation, such as new rules for derivatives. By all accounts, those teams have made good progress. But DoddWholesale jerseys and Corker were dealing with some of the most controversial parts of the legislation, particularly the new consumer agency. Dodd's attempts to find common ground with Corker on the agency, which many Republicans and the financial industry strongly oppose, has led to a backlash from some fellow Democrats. Dodd, for example, has floated a proposal to house the agency in the Federal Reserve, which has come under fire for failing to enact tougher consumer protections in the years leading up to the financial crisis. Jaret Seiberg, a financial policy analyst at Concept Capital'ssoccer jerseys Washington Research Group, said there still was plenty of time for bipartisan agreement before the full Senate took up the bill. Dodd's decision to move forward is a positive sign that could force compromise, he said. "What matters most is progress," Seiberg said. "This moves the legislation to a committee vote, and we fully expect Republicans to re-engage before the bill goes to the floor and that's when we expect the major compromises to occur," he said. But Dodd'snba jerseys attempt to push such a complex bill quickly through his committee could backfire. "This is a very important bill and I cannot imagine . . . passing a bill with this type of substance in it out of a committee in a week," Corker said. "I think that would be a travesty."

UPDATE 3-Pentagon may speed U.S. air tanker award
* Pentagon saysjerseys has ample pricing data on tanker planes* Boeing says next move up to Pentagon * Sen. McCain says Air Force process appears "legitimate" * Congressional intervention appears unlikely (Adds Rep. Skelton, analyst comment, lifts McCain quotes higher) WASHINGTON, Marchcheap jerseys 9 (Reuters) - The Pentagon may speed up awarding a multibillion-dollar aerial tanker contract after Northrop Grumman Corp (NOC.N) and Europe's EADS (EAD.PA) pulled out of the contest, leaving Boeing Co (BA.N) the sole bidder. The current plan calls for companies to submit their bids by mid-May, with a contract award expected in September; but Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said defense officials are looking at accelerating the current timeline for the program. "We may be in a position where we will beWholesale jerseys able to take a look at reducing some of those milestones," he said on Tuesday, referring to the 75-day deadline for bids, and plans for the U.S. Air Force to award a contract 120 days later. Senator John McCain, whose probe of an earlier $23.5 billion lease-then-buy tanker deal with Boeing eventually scuttled that contract, declined to fault the latest contest. McCain told reporters onnba jerseys Tuesday the Air Force's handling of the competition appeared to be "legitimate," which made it difficult for lawmakers to intervene, even if they would have preferred to see a competitive process. "I don't see how we can, unless we find some flaw in it, and we haven't found any flaws so far," McCain said. Defense analyst Jim McAleese said McCain's endorsement of the Air Force process, however tepid, made it unlikely that Congress would intervene to avert a sole-source bid by Boeing. "No one else has themlb jerseys conviction or credibility to generate an intervention," McAleese said. House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton chimed in late on Tuesday, saying he was disappointed that there would be no competition, but said it was important to start replacing the aging current KC-135 fleet "without any further delay." Whitman said the Pentagon was confident it could negotiate a reasonable price for the tankers even if Boeing were the only bidder. EADS on Tuesday ruled out a solo bid for the work. "There is baseline cost data that isnhl jerseys associated with these air frames," he said. "There are also measures the department can take to make sure we are controlling the costs." He declined to specify what measures were in mind, but federal acquisition rules require sole-source providers to certify their pricing data is accurate, timely and complete. The government could also buy less than the 179 airplanes expected in this competition if it believed Boeing's prices were too far off the mark, McAleese said. Unlike the new radar-evadingnfl jerseys fighter being developed by Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N), aerial tanker planes already exist today, Whitman said. He said officials also have ample cost data from the last competition, which Northrop and EADS won in February 2008 but later lost after government auditors upheld a Boeing protest. Boeing last week said itsoccer jersey would offer an updated 767-based tanker this time around, including a new digital flight deck from its 787 Dreamliner and a new fly-by-wire refueling boom. LONGEST-RUNNING SOAP OPERA Jim Albaugh, head of commercial airplanes for Boeing, told a JPMorgan investor conference on Tuesday that the next move is up to the Pentagon. "I've beenNba Jerseys working this program for nine years. It's the longest-running soap opera since 'Days of our Lives.' I'm not sure that we've seen the last episode," said Albaugh, who ran Boeing's defense business through August 2009. "We'll see what happens. It's really in the hands of the customer right now, how they want to proceed." The European It also noted that the United States traditionally sold more defense goods to Europe than vice versa. In 2008, the United States exported $5 billion, and imported only $2.2 billion of defense material from the European Union. This week's developmentsMlb Jerseys signaled a possible end to the long-standing saga, which began as a congressional drive to help Boeing just after the Sept. 11, 2001, hijacking attacks and has spawned major reforms of how the Pentagon buys arms. The investigation by McCain revealed too-cozy ties between lawmakers, Boeing and the Air Force, as well as ethics violations that later sent a former top Air Force official and Boeing's former finance chief to federal prison. Congress killed that first Air Force plan, saving taxpayers some $5 billion in unnecessary lease costs. But now the Air Force isnhl jerseys essentially back to square one -- a sole-source deal with Boeing, one industry source observed. Northrop said it was disappointed that the rules favored Boeing's smaller tanker, but said it would not protest to avoid further delays in the Air Force getting new planes that are used to refuel fighter jets and other planes in mid-flight. Thousands In Hudson Valley Still Without Power
Power problems continue to plague the tri-state area four days after the latest snowstorm. It's a slow-moving process, navigating downed trees and power lines, and every day is bringing new challenges to families left in the dark. Jordan shoes 14 Across the Hudson Valley, more than 50,000 customers are still in the dark. Among those customers are Chappaqua residents Miles and Lisa Kassin, who lost power Thursday morning – and are now beginning to lose their patience as well. "For the first two days, it was a novelty – we kind of camped out in the family room," Mike said. "They were in sleeping bags, we had the fire going," Lisa said. "We kept nudging each other every hour, saying 'put another log on' in the middle of the night." Jordan shoes 15 Their kids enjoyed a break from the routine, and a chance to do things that normally get put on the backburner. "We collect baseball cards, and we had to sort them – it took us like an hour and a half," nine-year-old Andrew Kassin said. Now, like many others, the Kassins are trying to preserve what's left of their frozen food, and their sanity. "We're doing okay, it's just frustrating," Lisa said. In Chappaqua, trees and power lines are everywhere, and power crews say it could be 48 to 72 hours before service is restored to everyone. Jordan shoes 16 In Newburgh, crews were scheduled to begin distributing water and dry ice at noon, but they started three hours early when people showed up desperate for help. "Our phone's been ringing off the hook," volunteer Michael Mitchetti said. "Everybody needs it." "It's rough, it's tough," resident Michelle Godwin said. "Fortunately, we have a wood-burning stove, so we have heat. We just don't have any of the other amenities." Jordan shoes 17 Many don't even have that. "I stay all snuggled up and sleep with a big quilt, and hopefully, maybe tomorrow [we'll have power back]," resident Kathy Woods said. Power crews from as far away as Georgia and Ohio are pitching in, doing everything they can to make that happen.

Buzz and bullets: Gun fans cheer Starbucks' policy
Dale Welch recently walked into a Starbucks in Virginia, handgun strapped to his waist, and ordered a banana Frappuccino with a cinnamon bun. He says the firearm drew a double- take from at least one customer, but not a peep from the baristas. Jordan 8 Welch's foray into the coffeehouse was part of an effort by some gun owners to exercise and advertise their rights in states that allow people to openly carry firearms. Even in some "open carry" states, businesses are allowed to ban guns in their stores. And some have, creating political confrontations with gun owners. But Starbucks, the largest chain targeted, has refused to take the bait, saying in a statement this month that it follows state and local laws and has its own safety measures in its stores. "Starbucks is a special target because it's from the hippie West Coast, and a lot of dedicated consumers who pay $4 for coffee have expectations that Starbucks would ban guns. And here they aren't," said John Bruce, a political science professor at the University of Mississippi who is an expert in gun policy. Welch, a 71-year-old retired property manager who lives in Richmond, Va., doesn't see any reason why he shouldn't bear arms while he gets caffeinated. Jordan 9 "I don't know of anybody who would provide me with defense other than myself, so I routinely as a way of life carry a weapon — and that extends to my coffee shops," he said. The fight for retailers heated up in early January when gun enthusiasts in northern California began walking into Starbucks and other businesses to test state laws that allow gun owners to carry weapons openly in public places. As it spread to other states, gun control groups quickly complained about the parade of firearms in local stores. Some were spontaneous, with just one or two gun owners walking into a store. Others were organized parades of dozens of gun owners walking into restaurants with their firearms proudly at their sides. In one case, about 100 activists bearing arms had planned to go to a California Pizza Kitchen in Walnut Creek, Calif., but after it became clear they weren't welcome they went to another restaurant. That chain and Peet's Coffee & Tea are among the businesses that have banned customers with guns. Jordan 10 Just as shops can deny service to barefoot customers, restaurants and stores in some states can declare their premises gun-free zones. The advocacy group OpenCarry.org, a leading group encouraging the demonstrations, applauded Starbucks in a statement for "deciding not to discriminate against lawful gun carriers." "Starbucks is seen as a responsible corporation and they're seen as a very progressive corporation, and this policy is very much in keeping with that," said John Pierce, co- founder of OpenCarry.org. "If you're going to support individual rights, you have to support them all. I applaud them, and I've gone out of my way personally to let every manager of every Starbucks I pass know that." The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has responded by circulating a petition that soon attracted 26,000 signatures demanding that Starbucks "offer espresso shots, not gunshots" and declare its coffeehouses "gun-free zones." Jordan 11 Gun control advocates hope the coffeehouse firearms displays end up aggravating more people than they inspire. "If you want to dress up and go out and make a little political theater by frightening children in the local Starbucks, if that's what you want to spend your energy on, go right ahead," said Peter Hamm, a spokesman for the Brady campaign. "But going out and wearing a gun on your belt to show the world you're allowed to is a little juvenile." The coffeehouse debate has been particularly poignant for gun-control advocates in Washington state, where four uniformed police officers were shot and killed while working on their laptops at a suburban coffeehouse. The shooter later died in a gun battle with police. Ralph Fascitelli of Washington Ceasefire, an advocacy group that seeks to reduce gun violence, said allowing guns in coffeehouses robs residents of "societal sanctuaries." "People go to Starbucks for an escape, just so they can get peace," Fascitelli said. "But people walk in with open-carry guns and it destroys the tranquility." Jordan 12 Gun control advocates have been on the defensive. Their opponents have trumpeted fears that gun rights would erode under a Democrat-led White House and Congress, but President Barack Obama and his top allies have largely been silent on issues such as reviving an assault weapons ban or strengthening background checks at gun shows. Gun rights groups are looking to build on a 2008 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that struck down Washington, D.C.'s handgun ban, and cheered legislation that took effect Monday allowing licensed gun owners to bring firearms into national parks. Obama signed that legislation as part of a broader bill. Legislators in Montana and Tennessee, meanwhile, have passed measures seeking to exempt guns made and kept in-state from national gun control laws. And state lawmakers elsewhere are considering legislation that would give residents more leeway to carry concealed weapons without permits. Jordan 13 Observers say the gun rights movement is using the Starbucks campaign to add momentum and energize its supporters. "They're trying to change the culture with this broader notion of gun rights," said Clyde Wilcox, a Georgetown University government professor who has written a book on the politics of gun control. "I think they are pressing the notion that they've got a rout going, so why not just get what they can while they're ahead?"

Embattled Gov. Paterson denies rumors he'll resign
It's the ballot box or a pine box. Gov. Paterson doesn't plan on leaving office any other way. Jordan shoes 4 "The only way I'm not going to be governor next year is at the ballot box and the only way that I'll be leaving office before is in a box," told reporters at a packed news conference. The embattled governor emphatically denied rampant rumors he was resigning or scuttling plans to run for a election next year due to a personal scandal. Asked if the frustration from dealing with rumors about his personal life was enough to consider not running, Paterson said it was just the opposite. "The more frustrated I get, the more I know I am going to be running," he said. Jordan shoes 5 In fact, Paterson campaign sources say he will formally announce his candidacy on Feb. 20 in Hempstead, L.I., where he grew up. He will then fly to Rochester later in the day, before hitting Buffalo and holding a rally in his home district of Harlem the next day. Paterson for the first time said he believes he's been the target of an "orchestrated" smear campaign. Jordan shoes 6 He said the slandering began as he started making calls asking for political support for his election campaign. "I am not trying to implicate anyone and I'm not going to start rumors myself," Paterson said. "After what I've been through, the last thing I'm going to do is blame this on any of the other candidates or any of the people who work for them. I don't know who did this," he added.

Future of Advertising: Ads That Stare Back and Int
For advertisers, the Super Bowl is still the biggest game of the year. But in today's marketplace, the buzz isn't surrounding the ads during the game, it's the advertisers opting to sit on the bench instead that have programmers shivering on the sidelines. For the first time in more than 20 years, Pepsi will not advertise during the game. jerseys "That was a real problem for the Super Bowl because they are one of the biggest advertisers," says Suzanne Vranica, advertising columnist for the Wall Street Journal. "The economy is wreaking havoc with a couple companies. And you've got a couple companies, big companies like FedEx and GM, who are long-time Super Bowl fanatics, that have pulled out because of the economy." cheap jerseys Instead of paying an estimated $2.5 million to $2.7 million per Super Bowl commercial, big brands are using social networking to connect with consumers -- hoping to click in a more personal way. "Social networking is the newest thing for marketers," says Vranica. "You've got 60 ads fighting for attention, so if you use social networking as a marketer and drum up some excitement, you'll have people specifically watching out for your commercial that night." Wholesale jerseys Instead of buying pricey ad time, Pepsi is launching a reported $20 million digital campaign to support charity projects initiated by consumers. Not to be outdone, Pepsi rival Coca-Cola, which is running two Super Bowl commercials, will partner with Facebook to incorporate charity into their message. "Every company out there has some kind of cause," says Vranica. In addition to philanthropy, companies like Doritos and CareerBuilder.com are crowd sourcing their ads through social networking. All of this year's Super Bowl advertisers have Twitter pages, and Facebook users were tapped to create Vitamin Water's latest flavor and ad campaign. soccer jerseys Ads are beginning to get plastered everywhere. "Ad clutter is a big problem, so advertisers are bending over backwards to find the most bizarre places to advertise," says Vranica. Elevators, cars, garages, crosswalks and even breakfasts like Eggo waffles are getting branded. nba jerseys Advertisers also are producing viral videos that seem to be captured by amateur photographers but surreptitiously advertise a product. RayBan, for example, released a video of a tattoo lover who appears to get a permanent pair of sunglasses tattooed on his face.

Karachi violence blow to Pakistan economy
KARACHI — A wave of political and sectarian violence sweeping Karachi threatens heavy financial losses in the country's economic hub, where analysts fear Islamists are bent on fanning maximum instability. air yeezy shoes Bomb attacks targeting Shiite Muslims have killed 76 people in six weeks, devastating riots and a surge in political shootings have sparked fears that after relative quiet, Karachi is returning to the eye of the storm. Pakistan's richest city has been spared the worst of a two-year Islamist bombing campaign but is plagued by crime and kidnappings, which some analysts say militant groups use to bankroll campaigns in the northwest and Afghanistan. "Karachi accounts for nearly 45 percent of Pakistan's GDP," independent economist A.B. Shahid told AFP. nike yeezy "It translates into roughly 15 billion rupees (180 million dollars) per day and tax revenues of one billion rupees per day," he said. The city is a national headquarters for industry and the service sector, a bustling port city on the Arabian sea with a teeming population of 16 million. "If the collapse of Pakistan's economy is the intention of its adversaries, then the easiest route to follow is ensure that Karachi's activity comes to a complete standstill," said Shahid. Pakistan recorded two percent gross domestic product growth last fiscal year, which ended on June 30, the worst-recorded economic growth since the financial year 1997-1998. Michael Jackson Memorial Ashfaq Hasan Khan, once economic advisor to former president Pervez Musharraf, said violence in Karachi was aimed at crippling Pakistan's economy. "Karachi has been spared of terrorism and violence for a long time and was contributing massively to the country's weak economy, but now the plotters want to completely cripple Pakistan's economy by attacking our port city," he said. It is largely impossible to calculate exact losses caused by violence and closures, such as for mourning after December 28 and February 5 bomb attacks on Shiite Muslims. "We can't calculate the exact loss to the country's economy in case of violence or terror attacks on Karachi because it involves many factors. But any day Karachi closes, it loses many billions of rupees," said Khan. The shutdown of the city Saturday, when thousands attended funerals for the 33 people killed on February 5, cost 12 to 15 billion rupees, he estimated. air jordan Officials say growing security concerns and targeted killings, which have exposed political tensions, tarnish Karachi's attraction for foreign investors. "We are painstakingly convincing foreign investors to come here and many of them do agree but one incident forces them to pull back," Zubair Motiwala, an investment advisor in the provincial government, told AFP. "Militancy in the northwest is dangerous for Karachi as well, as foreign investors take a general view of the whole country," Motiwala said. The situation also bodes ill for the stock market, still recovering from an abysmal 2008, when it suffered heavily from political turmoil, militancy and the global recession. "Violence in Karachi affects market sentiments and results in a slowdown in foreign investment," said Mohammad Sohail, chief of Topline Securities. air jordan shoes The government paid around two billion rupees (24 million dollars) to traders and shopkeepers whose shops and commodities went up in smoke when arsonists and rioters went on the rampage after the December 28 attack. "Violence after the blast on Ashura damaged around 1,500 shops in 30 markets in Karachi, which damaged confidence of investors a great deal," said Motiwala. Hundreds of workers are still out of work, waiting for their businesses to be rebuilt. They experienced further problems from political violence, which officials say has killed around 85 people, mainly activists from Awami National Party (ANP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) so far this year. jordan shoes Both ANP and MQM are coalition partners of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Sindh province, of which Karachi is the capital. "I am father of four surviving on daily wages," said 31-year-old Mohammad Asghar, who said for four days he could not go out to work in his western Orangi neighbourhood, where many of the killings were concentrated. "My pocket feeds my children. When it is empty my kids go hungry," he said.
