So how sensible was this?
1. Appointing as "Community Safety" Czar someone with a conviction for selling booze to underage kids? At least they will have had first hand experience of the issues involved!!
2. Forking out £100,000 of tax payers money to replace a car park less than 4 years old without a sniff of exploring the legal possibilities of suing whoever told them to have that sort of car park in the first place?
3. What is rural affairs anyway?
4. Where has housing gone as a Councillor responsibility?
5. Where has Planning (Sorry, Development control) gone as a Councillor responsibility - it only draws the biggest crowds..................
They do seem intent on ignoring difficult questions.

All change please!!
Well, according to the Chief Executive of the Council times are a changing, with a new air of change within the Council's officer ranks.
Decisions will be made faster and by her own admission with less debate!! Hmm, well that's a good thing isn't it :-) Already this is causing problems the recent decision to move to monthly Executive meetings is at odds with the Council's own constitution, which says fortnightly meetings to be held. It's only a small thing but who knows what will happen next.
Decide in haste, repent at leisure.

What will they do next?
Well, the Tories are in control, already they're promising to perhaps, maybe, go back to weekly bins collection. (Translation - "We're deciding policy based on what the Daily Mail says and haven't got any ideasof our own" - they'll never do it and keep control of Council tax).
What next? Open Walcot road bridge? Put up Car Park charges? What do you think they'll do?
Watch this space.
