from MLCT-enriched margarines to be lower
"This study aims to investigate the textural properties and sensory qualities of cookies made from medium- and
pendant long-chain triacylglycerol (MLCT)-enriched margarines. Margarine with formulations of MLCT : palm olein : palm stearin, 60 : 30:10 and 70 : 20:10, were selected to produce cookies," researchers in Serdang, Malaysia report.
"The textural properties of cookies were determined using a texture analyser. Quantitative descriptive analysis (QDA) and acceptance test were carried out
paloma picasso to describe the attributes and to evaluate the degree of liking of cookies, respectively. Cookies made from MLCT-enriched margarines showed high values for hardness, fracturability, but also for cohesiveness and adhesiveness. Trained panelists rated the cookies made from MLCT-enriched margarines to be lower as compared to those made from commercial margarine for most of QDA attributes. However, cookies made from MOS 603010 and commercial margarines were scored similarly (P > 0.05) for all acceptance test attributes. Overall acceptability was found to be highly and negatively correlated for hardness, fracturability and cohesiveness (R-2 > 0.90). Principal component analysis showed that the taste attribute of cookies and the % solid fat content of margarine at 35 degrees C highly influenced the overall quality of the cookies. Cookies made from MLCT-enriched margarines were not successfully produced," wrote N. Arifin and colleagues.
The researchers concluded: "However, the findings obtained provide new perspectives in the production of low-calorie bakery fat."Arifin and colleagues published their study in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture (Relationship between textural properties and sensory qualities of cookies made from medium- and long-chain triacylglycerol-enriched margarines. found to discriminate cultivars by ripening season
According to recent research from Palermo, Italy, "In order to reach good fruit quality, apricots require a balance of sugars and acids as well as a strong apricot aroma. In
pendant this study, fruit quality of early, intermediate and late apricot cultivars was evaluated by measuring physical, chemical and olfactory attributes."
"Multivariate analysis of quality and aroma attributes was used to identify groups of similar cultivars and association with ripening season. Physical, chemical and aromatic attributes showed great variation among cultivars but no relation to ripening season. Aromatic profiles (34 volatiles) of fruit tissues indicated qualitative and quantitative differences among cultivars. Ninfa and Mandorlon were richest in aroma, with a prevailing fruity component; Goldrich and Orange Red were also highly aromatic, with all odour components well represented; Pinkot, Alba and Pellecchiella were lowest in aroma, with a prevailing grassy component. Linear functions including five volatiles (concentrations) and fruit diameter or six aromatic compounds (odour units) and peel colour were found to discriminate cultivars by ripening season. Principal component analysis individuated three groups of cultivars: Ninfa and Mandorlon with sweet and fruity-flavoured fruits; Bulida, Alba, Goldrich, Ouardy and Silvercot with large, acidic and well-coloured fruits; and Fracasso, Pellecchiella, Palummella and Pinkot with small and floral/grassy-flavoured fruits," wrote R. Lobianco and colleagues.
The researchers concluded: "In apricot, detailed analysis of the aromatic profile may represent an efficient tool for classification of genotypes by ripening season, and volatiles with relevant odour contribution may serve as quality markers for selecting towards an extended ripening season of best quality apricots."Lobianco and colleagues published their study in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture (Fruit physical, chemical and aromatic attributes of early, intermediate and late apricot cultivars. a revised draft plan approval in February 2010
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued a $3,900 penalty to CPM Development Corporation for exceeding the pollution limits contained in the air quality permit for an asphalt plant located off Highway 97 in the Shady Pine area north of Klamath Falls, Oregon. CPM Development, a corporation based in Washington, is currently operating the asphalt plant as "Klamath Pacific Company."DEQ had assigned the plant to a general air contaminant discharge permit in February 2005. The permit was renewed in April 2007. A general permit is a permit that covers a category of industrial activity and provides pollution limits. Asphalt plants that qualify are typically administered a general permit and expected to meet the permit conditions.
DEQ issued the civil penalty because on at least four occasions since October 2006 the plant has tested over the limit for particulate matter emissions. In addition to the penalty, DEQ has requested that CPM Development demonstrate compliance with their permit limits for particulate matter by July 30, 2010.DEQ requires regular monitoring of emissions through air quality permits to ensure national air quality health standards are met. Particulate matter, when emitted in excess, can contribute to respiratory distress in members of the public and create nuisance conditions in the surrounding area. The elderly, children and people suffering from heart or lung disease are most at risk from this type of pollution.
The penalty was issued on March 15, 2010. CPM Development Corporation did not appeal and paid the penalty on April 7.The Department of Environmental Protection has approved an air quality plan for Adams County-based Tucker Industrial Liquid Coatings. The approval authorizes the use of three existing paint spray booths at Tucker's facility located at 407 North Ave., East Berlin.Tucker uses the booths to coat and paint metal parts on contract for other companies. The company began using three unpermitted spray booths in 2006 and exceeded acceptable emission levels of toluene, a chemical used as a cleaning solvent. In April 2009, DEP fined the company $154,500, ordered it to correct the problem and obtain the necessary air quality permit.
DEP issued a draft plan approval in June 2009, held a public hearing in August 2009, and released a revised draft plan approval in February 2010. All public comments received were considered during the development of the plan approval."We now have in place a plan that
tiffany assures the company's compliance with federal emissions standards and best available technology," said DEP South-central Regional Director Rachel Diamond. "This plan also specifies that the approval may not be used to justify violation of any local laws of ordinances."

supreme confidence behind an impossibly huge
The founding of the Shakespeare Workshop in the basement of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church on the Lower East Side is a high point in the book's account of Papp's early career. This seat-of-thepants effort, in which Papp and his comrades transported heavy movie-theater seats from the Bronx and tried to bolt them to the floor, scrounged for props and lights, and faced down boisterous audiences, brings to mind Shakespeare's blundering "rude mechanicals" in A Midsummer Night's Dream. It takes us to the very heart of theater - the passion and collaboration that undergird the chanciness of the whole enterprise. Here, the confluence of Papp's determination, his unrelenting opportunism, and a lot of luck led to a string of successes. Before he knew it, Papp himself was the establishment.
"There has to be a single idea by which a theater operates," Papp told Turan, "otherwise you go here, you go there, you don't know where you're going." As Papp and his enterprise made the transition from private upstart to public theater, his initial purity of purpose underwent some expansion of its own, to what might more accurately be called "principled opportunism." Originally Papp set out to bring Shakespeare to the masses; then, as he embraced contemporary plays (to "enrich" the Shakespeare productions, he explained), his professed aim was to bring the highest quality work to the greatest number of people. He refused to acknowledge that there might be a tension between
tiffany these two poles. Later, the productions at the Public Theater on Lafayette Street were supplemented (some might say compromised) by Papp's assumption of complete responsibility for the theatrical productions at Lincoln Center. Then there were the gamechanging productions that made it to Broadway - Two Gentlemen of Verona, Hair, A Chorus Line. These successes left him hungry for the next big hit that could fund the more challenging and abrasive work he valued, such as David Rabe's Vietnam War plays The Basic Training ofPavlo Hummel and Sticks and Bones.
Papp had more than good instincts; he had the gumption to take risks and make things happen. The man simply exuded power. I'll never forget the first time I encountered him, lounging with supreme confidence behind an impossibly huge desk in the sanctum sanctorum of his office, every wall adorned by show posters and tributes galore, an enormous cigar close at hand. His fighting spirit was incredible; he never backed down from a challenge. His high-profile battle against Robert Moses is perhaps the most famous, but there were many more such fights. He did not hesitate to go to the mat for a writer. As director Michael Lindsay-Hogg (who worked on Larry Kramer's play The Normal Heart) says, "at least he bullies in the right causes."

describe ongoing interactions between parties
It was apparent in the studied dyad that perceptions of economic issues may be opposite and depend on from whose point of view the aspect is viewed. For example, it is natural that a buyer tends to perceive a price increase as negative, while the seller may be assumed to perceive the price increase differently and see it as justified because of, for example, more expensive raw material and higher wages. Correspondingly, price reductions, unless they are warranted by reduced costs and improved productivity and do not affect profitability, may be assumed to be positive from the buyer's perspective and negative from that of the seller. This applied especially to perceptions of pricing, which have been interpreted as primarily neutral, because none of the firms perceived exceptional difficulties in the dyad although both mentioned aspects that they were not satisfied with. In addition, the majority of costs was highly dependent on price increases that the firms were unable to influence. BuyOff appreciated the price reduction that they had received, but had a negative experience because of two price conflicts. Although price negotiations were fierce, they had been able to compromise and reach agreements, which was interpreted as a positive aspect from both firms' points of view. In contrast to BuyOff, which did not discuss economic aspects in terms of productivity issues, SelMet discussed them in general focusing on production-related aspects. BuyOff
tiffany perceived the costs, on the whole, as rather neutral, even if they considered the price level as high and thus negative. SelMet did planning and design work for BuyOff, for which they did not get paid, but which was highly appreciated. This has been interpreted as a neutral aspect from SelMet's
tiffany sale point of view but, depending on the chosen time perspective, it may also be interpreted as either negative or positive. SelMet tended to regard these expenses and efforts as rather negative since they implied a considerable financial risk especially for a firm of their size. While negative in the short-run, SelMet acknowledged the necessity to occasionally take the risk and undertake unprofitable tasks in order to secure and develop the business in the long run.
The analysis did not reveal any latent relationship rewards as perceived by BuyOff. SelMet, in contrast, mentioned a few aspects, interpreted as aspects of latent relationship rewards, that they considered positive in the relationship with BuyOff. Concerning latent relationship costs, on the other hand, the analysis revealed that both firms had experienced negative issues. Compared to BuyOff, SelMet provided the majority of aspects pertaining to direct relationship costs. SelMet's perceptions of offering, quality failure and relationship management costs were nevertheless interpreted as primarily neutral. It is noteworthy, however, that all informants, on several occasions, brought up quality failure issues. Both firms were concerned about them and acknowledged how difficult they are to pinpoint and measure. Indirect costs stemming from the relationship were interpreted as neutral according to both firms, because they mentioned several aspects but did not consider them exceptional or considerable in costs.
This study addresses a construct, i.e. relationship quality which, despite its apparent significance in the current relationship-management paradigm and considerable research attention, is claimed to lack a definition and conceptualisation. It proposes a new definition together with a model of PRQ which is illustrated with a business-to-business dyad. One of this study's basic assumptions is that quality should be depicted as perceived quality as opposed to objective quality and originates from quality models in the service management approach. However, since this approach does not provide the language with which to describe ongoing interactions between parties, it needed to be combined with insights into relationships. The IMP approach provided such a framework and was therefore used to capture the content and dynamics of relationships. The whole study rests on accumulated theoretical insights which have been used together with empirical findings in an abductive manner to expand the scope on quality to encompass dyadic quality perceptions in a business relationship setting. The definition and model have hence been developed to concern business-to-business relationships and are therefore best suited to this particular type of market.

think tank Center for American Progress
As the No. 2 guy at the No. 1 most watched agency in government, Homeland Security Department Deputy Secretary Michael Jackson answers to Congress a lot. He's testified 11
pendant times since taking the position two years ago. Jackson answers to his boss, Secretary Michael Chertoff, too, with whom he says he usually meets five to eight times a day.
But it's rare that Jackson, whose job puts him in the chief operating officer role at DHS, has to answer directly to the 200,000-plus employees who work for him. On Jan. 30, however, Jackson did. That day, the Office of Personnel Management released findings from its 2006 Federal Human Capital Survey, which it conducts every two years. Of 36 federal agencies surveyed, DHS ranked 30th in job satisfaction, 30th in results-oriented performance culture, 35th in leadership and 33rd in talent management.
Jackson is a blunt man; he rapidly ticks off memorized lists of priorities and policies in his
tiffany Texas accent. Down the hall from his office, he points to a photograph on the wall of ground zero in New York and barks, "That's why I'm here."In his Jan. 30 memo to employees, Jackson told them, "These results deliver a clear and jolting message from managers and line employees alike. I am writing to assure you that, starting at the top, the leadership team across DHS is committed to address the underlying reasons for DHS employee dissatisfaction."Two years earlier, DHS employees had put their agency in a similar spot on tne rankings. "On the whole, it is not significantly changed from OPM's 2004 employee survey," Jackson conceded.
Scott Lilly, a senior fellow at the think tank Center for American Progress in Washington, noted that DHS ranked last on half the examined topics, including how employees rate the overall quality of work done by their unit and the sense of personal accomplishment their work provides. The department placed second to last on another quarter of them. The 2004 survey was "devastating in its implications about how well government has taken on the important job of protecting the country against attack and preparing for the aftermath if an attack does take place," Lilly said in his analysis.Jackson and his team didn't respond too well to the survey the last time around, he admits. But Jackson says he had recently taken the job when the 2004 results came out, and they were a reflection of the uncertainty that comes with creating a new department.

Michael Jackson recently spent a day on Maryland's Eastern Shore, where he reportedly looked at vacation properties. His spokesperson, Raymone Bain, told The Washington Post, "He's always admired the properties on the East Coast because they have a lot of land." She added that the 48-year-old singer is also looking at other areas along the East Coast and hasn't yet made a purchase.
The first new studio album in 15 years by pop/rock group Crowded House will be released on July 10. Time on Earth features the band's new drummer Matt Sherrod, who used to perform with Beck. Sherrod replaced Paul Hester, who committed suicide in 2004. In addition to Sherrod, the group's lineup includes original members Neil Finn and Nick
tiffany Seymour
elsa peretti and guitarist-keyboardist Mark Hart. Crowded House will kick off a North American concert tour in early August.
Taylor Hicks' autobiography Heart Full of Soul will be released on July 10. In the book, the 2005 American Idol winner tells stories about what inspired his love of music and the obstacles he faced on his path to success. Hicks will take several days off from his concert tour to do some book signings. The book tour starts July 17 in New York City and wraps up in Texas on July 27.
On July 10, Rhino Records will release a collection of previously unreleased demo tracks Stephen Stills recorded in 1968. Among the tracks on Just Roll Tape: April 26th, 1968 are his original demos of "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Wooden Ships" and "Change Partners." Stills says, "I was at a Judy Collins session in New York in 1968, and when she was finished, I peeled off a few hundreds for the engineer so I could make a tape of my new songs. Some you'll know; some you might not. The following fall we made the first CSN album, and the tape has been lost to the wind for almost 40 years. Somehow it's found its way back, and these songs now feel like great friends when they were really young."
