WHY DO DO GOODERS INTERFERE
LAST SUNDAY MY PARTNER AND I WENT TO THE LOCAL WOOD TO COLLECT FIREWOOD.  WE GOT TO THE ENTRANCE IN THE CAR TO BE STOPPED BY A MAN IN A NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC TEASHIRT (you know who you are) WE EXPLAINED WHAT WE WERE DOING, BUT HE SAID WE COULD NOT GO DOWN THE TARMAC ROAD WITH A PARKING AREA AT THE END OF IT BECAUSE IT IS A BRIDAL TRACK.  WE DO NOW DO ANY DAMAGE TO THE WOODS AS WE ONLY COLLECT FROM TREES THAT HAVE ALREADY FALEN.  AT LEAST WE ARE DOING OUR BIT FOR CONSERVATION BY USING RENEWABLE ENERGY.

i JUST WISH THESE DO GOODERS WOULD LOOK AT THE BROADER PICTURE AND MIND THEIR OWN BEES WAX INSTEAD OF TELLING EVERYONE ELSE WHAT TO DO.  I BET HE HAS A LARGE HOUSE WITH AN EQUALLY LARGE SALARY, WHEN MOST OF THE POPULATION OF LANCASTER ARE ON BASIC MINIMUM WAGE, AND ARE TRYING TO MAKE ENDS MEET.

Do gooders
Last Sunday my partner and I want to the local woods to collect firewood.  This involves going down a tarmac road, which this person called a bridal way, and parking in the space at the end of the track.  At the beginning of the track we were stopped by a do gooder in a national geographic T shirt (you know who you are).  We do not destroy anything, as we only collect wood from already fallen trees, trying to do our bit for conservation by using renewable energy for heating.  I usually find these people live in big houses with salaries to match.  These people should mind their own business.  As do the majority of people in Lancaster, we only earn basic minimum wage and as a result have to keep warm the best way we can.  I went to University for 5 years only to be told that there weren't any jobs available in that field.  I therefore, resent being treated like a second class citizen by these people who think they are better than everyone else.

Racism Reversed
While walking along St Georges Quay in Lancaster on Thursday night, my 18 year old son was alone and going to visit a friend.  A car pulled up and a group of Asian young men started shouting racial abuse at him and proceeded to beat him up, kicking him and stamping on his head several times.  Leaving him on the floor they then got back in the car and drove off.  Apparently this is happening on a regular bases and the police are unable to do anything about it.  Fortunately he is quite fit, as he is hoping to join the police himself.  He knew it was not a good idea to retaliate as he would probably have come off even worse.  Why is it unlawfull to shout abuse at other ethnic races, but not the other way round?

A South Downs National Park?
I am sure the good people of Mid-Sussex and indeed the rest of our beautiful County are aware that plans are being made for a National Park. However, the Govenment Inspector has removed the Western Weald from the proposed boundaries. On behalf of the South Downs Society, I would like to implore everyone to sign our online petition at: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/western-weald and try to persuade him to change his mind. The public Inquiry resumes Tuesday, 11th March, 2008 and the Weald is the first topic of debate.  For more information on the Inquiry, go to:http://www.planning-inspectorate.gov.uk/southdowns/ and for proofs of evidence go to:http://www.planning-inspectorate.gov.uk/southdowns/docs_proofs.htm
