lincoln j dixon Lincoln the cocker spaniel tells you about agility, life near the meadows and other fun and naughtiness which only a cocker spaniel can get away with!

diary of destruction
My typical day? After a walk I like a long drink then a bit of a snooze as everyone goes about their business around me.
Amber's typical day? Casing the joint looking for trouble and yesterday it was taking a chunk out of the wall near the stairs, leaving a dust carpet on the real carpet, followed by eating a school newsletter. Oh joy.
It was James birthday yesterday so we got to have a tiny bit of cake in celebration - yummy!
And a big hello to grandad Ed who's just come out of hospital.
We'll be over to see you as soon as you're up to two lunatic spaniels!!!!

How hot is it? We're spending the heat of the day crashed out in the cool lounge then we get to go to the river for a splash about.
How are you all keeping cool - doggies out there?

Amber here!
My big brother Lincoln's let me have a go at this blogging lark this time. We went to agility last week and the tunnel ad a curve in it and I bombed in and out lots of times, I was very tired!
I'm getting fluffy now and my tail is always wagging.
One of my favourite games is chasing Lincoln all over the place but then he gets cross and growls at me! Some doggies have no sense of fun!

wires
We're off to agility again tomorrow and if the weather stays like this it'll be smashing in Jackie's field.
Amber's bitten through ANOTHER wire at home, this time belonging to a speaker attached to the stereo.
Dad joked about the relief not being able to hear mum's music but it couldn't have been that funny a joke as mum didn't laugh.
We're enjoying the light evenings now and longer walks. We have to be careful on the meadows as the cows are back and we missed a close encounter by seconds the other night.
Luckily we were safely on the other side of the gate but it didn't stop little miss from barking at the cows (She's so gobby!)
I went for a hair cut a couple of weeks ago to Ruth in Great Cornard, it's the first time I'd been there and she did a grand job - I look dead handsome! And it means Amber can't bite my fur because it's too short!

hide and seek
So much for peace and quiet at agility! Jackie invited Amber along and although she's too little to jump etc she enjoyed charging about in the field.
Jackie straightened out the tunnel and Amber flew through it! At one stage we were both side by side in it, we just fitted.
Then I stayed behind in it and Amber wondered where I had gone. It was a lot of fun having her there and it made her dead tired so she left me alone for the afternoon.
I'm off for a haircut on Friday, mum keeps calling me furball so I think I need a good trim.

crufts
Crufts is over for another year and I enjoyed watching all my fellow dogs strutting their stuff in the ring.
The speed of the agility dogs made me a bit dizzy and made me feel a bit inadequate when I think about how long it takes me to get something right with Jackie but then I only do it for fun!
The overall winner, Phillip the giant Schnauzer, deserved his prize although I was keeping my paws crossed for the American cocker spaniel too.
I don't think I'd like it there though, all they seem to do is have their hair brushed and brushed and I don't really like that - just ask mum!

a bit of peace and agility
It's been a hectic couple of weeks at home with Amber settling into her routine of bothering me at every opportunity and trying to steal my dinner.
Yesterday mum took me to see Jackie for some agility, away from Amber as she's too little to do it just yet.
It was great to be up in that field running about without having a cocker puppy hanging off my tail!
Jackie reckons I did a course and a half during my time there, I even did the see-saw which made me wobble a bit.
Then I got stuck in the cloth tunnel but was tempted out with a biscuit.
I'm due for a haircut soon which might stop my little sister biting my hair. That'll be another couple of hours peace!
Don't forget Crufts starts this Thursday!

Amber Alert!
We're getting a new addition to the household. Amber, my little sister from mum Mazie's second litter is coming to live with us.
I'm quite excited at the thought of having a playmate to be naughty with! Jackie's already said sis will be welcome at her puppy classes.
Excellent idea don't want her growing up a deliquent like me....on the other hand......
