I am still enjoying a pair of New Balance 2012 I bought 3 years ago, I have several other pair of New Balance including a pair of 991's that are going on 7 years old but are now mainly for yard work. Always been satisfied with 993's used mainly for walking & exercising at the gym. I take good care of my shoes and rotate the usage but can’t imagine how others could have them fall apart in 2-3 months.
They don’t smell wierd and are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own, I expect to get at least another 2 years out of them before they too retire to work in the yard. I am 6' 250lbs, if they hold up this well with me I would think someone lighter would get even more time out of them. They aren’t my only pair of shoes but I wear them on avg 70-80 days a year and use them for moderate activity.
