Mrs Robinson
Most people would have been moved several days ago by Peter Robinson's 'heart-breaking' revelation about his wife's infidelity, depression and alledged attempted suicide.
But it now appears that his relevations were merely a pre-emptive strike, aimed at encouraging public sympathy for himself, knowing that the Spotlight programme was about to expose them both as fraudsters. They were well aware of the BBC investigatioons that had been going on for months, and knew they were about to be exposed.
Imagine if a British Prime Minister had been in a similar situation. He/she would have been forced to resign immediatly, most likely would have resigned without even having been asked. But the 'Swish Family Robinson' are attempting to hang-on to tax-payers money as if they are about to fall off a cliff.
I suppose this is understandable. Afterall, they do need to keep-up their mortgage payments on their holiday home in Florida, and their various other properties in N.Ireland, not to mention the cost of their expensive fleet of cars.
Reportedly, Mrs Robinson has now gone off on a skiing holiday on the French Alps to help her overcome her depression. Poor thing.
Nice one if you can afford it. But then the Robinsons and their relatives appear to have more jobs - financed entirely by the tax-payer - than the entire working-class population of East Belfast.
How can a mundane estate agent and a secretary end-up earning millions of tax-payers money. By preaching the Bible, according to themselves, I suppose.
'And here's to you, Mrs Robinson....Jesus loves you more than you will know...Ho,ho.ho...Ho,ho,ho'.
