Boot Sale Report for Sunday 26th July.
The winners of the two cash raffle prizes of £25 each were tickets 73 & 112. The wine, chocolates and free pitches were won on tickets 65 and 140.
We had a good turn out today. I am always delighted to see first time sellers enjoying our boot sale experience. We opened our gates a little earlier than advertised, at around 11 am, to accommodate the growing number of early eager sellers.
Sellers weren’t the only early arrival. The rain that was forecast for 4 o’clock started to fall at around 2.30 pm. Most sellers held out until 3.00 pm with the last packing away around 3.30 pm.
The gentlemen who reported his lost wallet later let us know that he had returned home to find it sitting on his driveway! And, the keys that were handed in were eventually reunited with their owner.
Finally, one of our marshals reported to me that there was an agitated dog left in a car in the buyers’ car parking area. I was pleased to see that the owner had wound the windows down for ventilation. I would like to remind all dog owners that we love to see well behaved dogs at the Rusper Car Boot! We even provide a place where they can get fresh water. So go on, let them have a day out too! All we ask is that they are on a short lead and that you have a poop-scoop with you.

We have had some excellent weather and some really great boot sales over the last few weeks.
This weeks raffle winners were numbers 53 and 74 (same row - picked by baby Amelia - one of our marshals daughters!)

Another scorching Sunday afternoon.
It felt even hotter than last week! We had a good turn out of sellers - though a few less than last week, they probably whent to the beach and I don't blame them! That said, the field was best part filled and we still had a good flow of buyers and the boot sale was busy until about 3.00pm. until the heat got too much for everyone.
The new 'Beet-Le-Juice' smoothie van seemed to do well and I hope eveyone enjoyed thier iced fresh fruit smoothies. I did!
There was very little litter left behind - except for a microwave oven tossed in the hedge-row - the culprit should be ashamed!
We had a guy shoot a video of the days boot sale and hope to have it uploaded soon.
All in all a very good day!

It was the hottest day of the year so far and the great weather brought out a great number of eager buyers and sellers!
We were packed out by midday and even had to open up the farm next door to accomodate the flood of buyers!
Despite being so busy their was still the fantastic friendly and fun atmosphere that has gained the Rusper Car Boot such an excellect reputation.

BUYERS
Buyers (including disabled) £1 per car before 12.00 noon (official start time)
Buyers 50p per car after 12.00 noon
Buyers (disabled) FREE after 12.00 noon

Sellers standard pitch (cars length) inc. 4x4 & people carriers £7
(no increase on last year)
Sellers Medium VAN pitch (Standard Transit type) £9

Friendly and Fun Car Boot Sale
MAY 10th 2009
Another terrific week at the Rusper Sussex Car Boot Sale.
The new parking that was set out for this years events is working really well - with sellers arriving a little earlier but not stalling out until 11.30am. The new larger free diasbled area has proved that risk assessments are worth the work!
The new arrangements have allowed us to increase the sellers field space with room for around 120+ stalls without even having to open the gates to the large adjacent field! Buyers seem more than willing to pay the £1 entry fee when arriving before 12.00 noon (official start time.) This is helping to bump up our charity fund.
We were pleased to provide two free pitches to the ladies from the Anna Hammond Trust and they successfully raised £150. Well Done!
As the organiser I always enjoy to see buyers wandering around with arms full of bargains and sellers having a good time.
Despite the ever growing size of the event everyone seems to really enjoy themselves and there was so much laughter on Sunday it was more like an enourmous family gathering!

Rusper Sussex Sunday Car Boot Sale
What a fantastic 2nd Week!
We had over 100 sellers stalled out by 12.30 and despite the new early entry fee of £1 for parking before 12. noon, (part of which goes to charity), we had an endless flow of buyers from 11.30am onwards! So many infact that we had to start using the farm next door!
The weather was lovely and warm and the atmosphere was as friendly as ever. We had a lot of first time sellers who were eager to shift everything from baby clothes to dusty antiques!

Rusper Sussex Boot Sale Diary April 26th
We started the car boot sale one week earlier than we had planned. (Well, even we could'nt ignore the great weather latley!). It was a good start to the season and really good to see lots of friendly and familiar faces and also to meet a lot of new people.
We have added another two car boot sale marshals to our team to help control onsite traffic and to provide help and assistance to our visitors.
We were delighted to provide a free pitch for the crew who were selling on behalf of St. Catherines hospice, one of the charities that we also support. I thank Jenny for her kind email, 'Wow what a successful day on Sunday, we managed to raise £130.00 between us for St Catherine’s Hospice, thanks to your support on the day.
A big thank you to you & your team.'
We have our fingers crossed for good weather this season and look forward to our third year of managing the fun and friendly Rusper Car Boot Sale.
