We are looking forward to a great weekend of car booting! For the first time we will be holding a bank holiday Monday boot sale aswell as our usual Sunday afternoon event. We have decided to add this Monday to our calendar after having to cancel last Sundays event due to the weather.

Best Car Boot Sale?
The Rusper Sussex-Surrey Border Car Boot Sale has really hit the right note with the car boot community! Our event has now become so popular we have had to hire another field! It's taken a lot of work and we have listened to the valued suggestions of our customers all along the way.
At Rusper we really do appreciate everyone who comes along to our event and we think it's important to show that appreciation.
As our event has grown we have taken the step of hiring a licensed security patrol officer to help out in the stall holders area. It may seem a little'over-the-top' but it's amazing who many stall holders choose Rusper because they feel uncomfortable or even intimidated at other car boot sales.
We also run our regular stall holders raffle prizes, online competitions and our latest addition is 'Car Park Cash'. Each week we select a random car in one of our large car parks and photograph the number plate on the boot. We post that to our website and if its your car boot there's a £50 cash prize!
Perhaps though what sets us apart mostly from other weekly car boot sales is that we try hard to help out the community that supports us. We offer charities and local fundraisers Free and discounted pitches at our event and also make our own contributions to three local and important charities.

Car Boot Sale June 13th
We had a lot of buyers and sellers turn up very early today (before our team of marshals arrived!) I apologise if I was I stern with anyone but buyers arriving before 10.30am can cause serious problems with our teams ability to safely set up the event.
We appreciate everyone who comes out to the countryside to join us at our car boot sale. We want you all to enjoy your experience and kindly request that our official times are observed.
The event itself was fantastic today! We had our sellers field almost full by 1.30pm and sellers continued to arrive until past 2pm.
There was a huge turnout of buyers and despite the traffic levels we managed to accommodate everyone between the three parking areas. (Though some may have had to walk further than others.)
The sunshine and fantastic crowd it a really great day.
The winning raffle tickets weres claimed - No.s 400 + 454
The whole team would like to thank everyone who joined us today.
We would also like to say a huge WELL DONE to Steve our regular Ice Cream Vendor who has shaved off his curly locks for a 'Monk-Cut' and raised a huge sum of money for St. Catherines.

Sussex Car Boot Sales
Sussex Car Boot sale - Sunday 30th May
Without doubt our busiest day for buyers ever. With around 2,000 visitors pouring through the gates stall holders were selling out quickly!
The weather was much cooler than last week which was a blessing!
The kids loved the big electric go-kart track which we hope will be a permanent feature from the end of June.
The newly laid stretches of tarmac road running to the adjacent farm parking areas has been a blessing for the low-sprung sports cars that visit us.
I was amazed to see so many of our sellers had come down all the way from South London and all the way up from the South Coast.
It goes to show that everyone loves a friendly, countryside car boot sale.

Sussex Car Boot Sale
Last weeks Report 23rd May
Now that was a seriously hot day!
Despite the heat we had our largest turn out of visitors in the last four years! By 12.30pm we had to start parking visitors on the fields of the adjacent farm.
We also had a fantastic turn out of stall holders including many first time sellers. We were pleased to provide several free and discounted pitches to charity fundraisers including, St. Catherines and Sussex Ambulance.
Not Crop Circles!
There were a couple of comments last week that I had not bothered to get the grass cut - despite my having paid to have it cut just 10 days before. I did however take these comments seriously and tried to get a contractor out to do another cut. Unable to get anyone out at short notice and determined to keep everyone happy I borrowed a petrol mower. I spent two days in the blazing sunshine hand mowing the 5000m2 area. The uncut corner and strange square in the left side of the field area are the result of the mower finally blowing up on me!
I had to abort the field and then borrow a strimmer - I proceeded to strim down the 200ft long 4ft wide strip that is the pedestrian access corridor along the parking field. (By now sunstroke was getting the better of me!) Finally, I spent my Friday evening shovelling and wheel barrowing 2.5 ton of road-stone to level out pot holes and dips that had been noted in at the entrance and exit points.
I do take your comments very seriously and it is important to me that all our visitors are happy. The whole team wants you to enjoy your day out at the Rusper Boot Sale.

LOOS
Due to how busy we have become we will be adding an extra loo this week. We will also be replacing the one that has been noted as leaking water from the sink area. The new loo will be designated for ladies only. The other two will remain uni-sex.

PICNIC AREA
We hope that you enjoyed the new picnic area at the bottom part of the field. We will be adding a few more tables and chairs (and a bin). I specially picked this area as it provides the best shade throughout the day.

Sussex Surrey Car Boot Sale 9th May
Firstly, it was brilliant to see so many people at the first boot sale of the season and a real pleasure to meet up with the many, many friends we have made over the years.
The weather remained dry although the leaden skies hung quite heavy all afternoon. It was a pity that our first event coincided with the kids motor-cross on the farm next door which was unusually noisy this time around. The farmer had cut the field the previous day but being the first cut of the season it was prehaps not as short as we would have liked. There was also a short period of flying bugs which we think was caused by the first grass cutting of the year. Despite those factors - it was still a great day!
The two raffle prizes No. 155 and No. 175 were both claimed.
I would like to thank everyone who joined us today.
We would like to remind anybody wishing to apply for a discounted charity pitch to please ensure they contact us prior to the event.
On a final note we would like to let you know that our potra-loos are professionaly cleaned, emptied and restocked for each event. They are provided for everyones use and it is always a pity when someone uses them as a playground. From next week we will be clearly designating them as either Male or Female and asking that parents supervise their children as appropriate when using them.

Rusper Sussex Car Boot Sale 26th July 2009
Lucky Ladies - Winners of the free raffle Car Boot Cash
Boot Sale Report for Sunday 26th July.
The winners of the two cash raffle prizes of £25 each were tickets 73 & 112. The wine, chocolates and free pitches were won on tickets 65 and 140.
We had a good turn out today. I am always delighted to see first time sellers enjoying our boot sale experience. We opened our gates a little earlier than advertised, at around 11 am, to accommodate the growing number of early eager sellers.
Sellers weren’t the only early arrival. The rain that was forecast for 4 o’clock started to fall at around 2.30 pm. Most sellers held out until 3.00 pm with the last packing away around 3.30 pm.
The gentlemen who reported his lost wallet later let us know that he had returned home to find it sitting on his driveway! And, the keys that were handed in were eventually reunited with their owner.
Finally, one of our marshals reported to me that there was an agitated dog left in a car in the buyers’ car parking area. I was pleased to see that the owner had wound the windows down for ventilation. I would like to remind all dog owners that we love to see well behaved dogs at the Rusper Car Boot! We even provide a place where they can get fresh water. So go on, let them have a day out too! All we ask is that they are on a short lead and that you have a poop-scoop with you.

We have had some excellent weather and some really great boot sales over the last few weeks.
This weeks raffle winners were numbers 53 and 74 (same row - picked by baby Amelia - one of our marshals daughters!)
