Life away from Colne Living away from Colne, You can take the Colne girl away from Colne but never ever take Colne out of the girl

visits home
On my regular visits home, to visit family and friends, you realise that although times change that things stay the same. Colne really is a place where everyone knows who you are and nothing is ever a 7 day wonder.

Since leaving town almost 6 years ago, we have had a Mcdonalds come to town, a new Boundary Mill will be opening, Next and other Big names are coming into town, travel is limitless , we have a motorway that starts practically on our doorstep, soon we will have a rail link into Manchester , it's a shame that the x43 no longer departs from Colne.

Colne has a lot to be proud of, however, crime is on the increase, we have immigrants within our boundaries, the next generation are becoming adults, but seem to lack the respect and the discipline that my generation had, and I am by no means old, but in my early 40's.

I love coming back home, even buying a house for my children to live in, as you really get  value for money in Colne , my hope is that one day they will take the plunge and move away, alas i fear not as very few people fly the nest, Colne remains in the blood even to me
