As a Christian I was called by God to leave my home town of Weymouth and Portland in Dorset and move with my family to Doncaster, South Yorkshire.  We have lived in Armthorpe now for about 8 years.

Some folk when they find out that I have moved from Dorset to Doncaster say, "Why on earth have you moved to Doncaster for I take my holidays in Weymouth" or in a usual Donny style "You must be mad."  I have replied that it was for family needs, as my mum, dad, gran and sister died over a four year period which ended about 10 years ago.

The truth is I was heartbroken losing my family and at this time felt depressed and suicidal.

However, one day when I was at rock bottom, I felt something deep inside welling up to the surface into a whisper and the voice said "Rather than give your life up for nothing, give your life to me and I will make it something." I later found the following quote in the bible:

Jesus says "Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?  Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels".  Mar 8:35-38

Well a lot has happened since then, I have a wonderful relationship with my beautiful wife.  I have a son who was a birthday present from God to me nearly nine years ago.  He is such a blessing!

Well since leaving the golden sandy beaches of Weymouth and the breathtaking views and amazing sun sets from the cliffs of Portland. I use to ask WHY Doncaster?

And then I would remember my calling, God had said to my wife and I "Build bridges in the Doncaster community" and the following quote:

Father God says "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land".
2Ch 7:14

   
After much pondering and observing the Church in Doncaster I realised this quote is talking to The Christians in Doncaster to humble, pray and seek His face. and repent and turn from the sin they are still in... i.e. lust, pride, satanic societies like the Order of Buffaloes, and Freemasonry which cubs, scouts guides originate.

Then God will hear our prayers, forgive our sins and heal us and our land. Praise GOD!
