       *As previously reported, Michael Jackson will be laid to rest on what would have been his 51st birthday. The family followed up patriarch Joe Jackson's unofficial announcement to the New York Daily News with a statement saying the King of Pop will be buried at Holly Terrace in the Grand Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday, August 29 at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be limited to family and close friends.

"Today" show Tuesday. With over 100 designs already approved by Michael, the collection was set to include a rhinestone glove and socks, a red jacket, Ed Hardy shirts, a belt and umbrellas, according to the report on "Today."  Audigier now hopes to work with Michael Jackson’s estate to release the line, but nothing is finalized.

At least not when it comes to people he had plans to collaborate with on potential Ed Hardy clothing lines. (Among any number of other distinctions.)

Despite reports to the contrary, spurred on by an Audigier-funded trip to St.-Tropez for Gosselin and girlfriend Hailey Glassman, the T-shirt purveyor tells E! News that the only celebrity he ever discussed going into business with was the King of Pop.

"I invited him to my birthday," Audigier says of Jackson. "And he showed up. It was his last public appearance. He was testing [the public mood about him] at my party. So we became friends. He told me one day he would like to collaborate with me on a collection."

A binding contract if ever there was one. Too bad no such deal ever existed with The Lying Channel's No. 1 dad.

"I never said I was going to do a line with Jon Gosselin. I don't want to do a line with Jon Gosselin."

Well, not this week, anyway...


"Jon is going to give me a visit in Las Vegas because there is a trade show, Magic," Christian Audigier says, adding that he was open to the idea of a collaboration, but not on a much-rumored children's line, as he doesn't "want to use their kids to wear my clothes."

"He is going to come...a week from today, and he is going to become more familiar with the product."

And, we presume, pose for a photo or two along the way.

But their frequent conversations have never quite crossed over from personal to professional.

"He calls me every two days to see what is going on. He is talking about his kids a lot."

As for other jobs Gosselin doesn't have but seems to think he does: Audigier says that, despite appearances, the reality dad is not a paid spokesman for his Ed Hardy clothing brand. (Though he has been the recipient of a seemingly endless gift box and is, like it or not, the brand's unofficial ambassador.)

He may soon go pro with his shilling, however, and become a spokesman for another Ed Hardy offshoot. We think.

"He is really into bikes, so he want to do something around bikes so he can be the spokesperson for one of my brands on bikes."

Now that that's all cleared up...

About the photo op that started it all, Audigier says he originally flew Gosselin and Glassman to France earlier this summer simply because "he was wearing a lot of Christian Christian Audigier every day, so I said, 'I want to meet this guy.'"

"I just invite him because I see him on the Jon & Kate show asking for job. So I was curious to see what he was asking people for which kind of job."

Apparently, Audigier's viewing of Jon & Kate Plus 8 was a one-time-only deal, as evidenced by his bafflement over Gosselin's plus-one for the trip.

Upon accepting Audigier's invitation, the reality dad took it upon himself to request a second ticket.

"He told me he was coming with his stylist. It appeared his stylist was Hailey. A week after, I discovered those two guys were together. I didn't even know that Jon and Kate were not together."

Well, we knew there had to be someone.

First Jon Gosselin, now Kari Ann Peniche. Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier certainly seems to be surrounding himself with the cream of the crap.

Uh, crop. We meant crop.

Peniche, the clothes-averse costar of Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart, made her way, as all good tabloid targets do, over to Audigier's studios yesterday, and while she left with the impression that she landed herself a design gig, she may be in for a rude awakening when she turns up for orientation at Ed Hardy HQ tomorrow morning.

A source close to Christian Audigier denied reports of any collaboration with Peniche, a budding swimwear designer, saying "those are just rumors."

Now if only we could track down where they first started…oh, that's right.

"I'm gonna be working on a bikini line," Peniche told paparazzi yesterday. "I start on Friday."

Yeah, that's probably what Gosselin thought, too.

Totally unexpected, it contained the first Ed Hardy helmet I'd ever seen, with a bitchin' flaming-tiger graphic on each side. It wasn't until I spun it around to the front that I got indignant. "By Christian Audigier," it read in large letters below the Ed Hardy logo. What the fcuk?! (Cue cryptic design house reference.) Why would a biker want some French fashion designer's name scrawled across his forehead? How do you say "douche" in French anyway? Oh wait, that is a French word...

Ironically, not long thereafter the Ed Hardy folks paid a visit to our offices to show us their new line of motorcycle accessories--helmets, jackets, gloves, boots, billet parts, graphics, tie-downs, the works--all embossed with the work of famed California tattoo artist Don Ed Hardy. They then bussed us cross-town to their headquarters, where we had a meet-and-greet with Christian Audigier himself.

Their offices were the kind of creative space I wish we had here at the magazine, and the boss' digs ... let's just say the word "opulent" doesn't do them justice. Everything was painted white except the walls, covered in alligator skin. And everywhere you looked were vintage and custom motorcycles, most with the Christian Audigier logo painted on their gas tanks. As one attendee put it, "Clearly the guy doesn't have any self-esteem issues."

Be that as it may, it turns out the guy is a bike guy. "I grew up in France, so of course I rode motorcycles as transportation," Audigier reveals. And now, on the heels of his success hawking Von Dutch and Ed HardyEd Hardy shirts--and, coming soon, Evel Knievel!--he's delved into the bike business, offering the aforementioned gear and partnering with various bike builders. First came a Yamaha quad, then a Suzuki Hayabusa, and now the Ducati Monster shown here, offered as part of a 25-unit run of customs that will also include Hypermotards, Streetfighters and 1198s. Maybe the guy's not a douche after all?As for the real Don Ed Hardy, like the Dread Pirate Roberts he's been retired for years, overseeing and mentoring the artists at his San Francisco studio, Tattoo City. Von Dutch wasn't as fortunate: He died of a stomach abscess caused by alcoholism in 1992.
