Weeks 4 and 5
I have a confession to make - for two weeks running I have only managed two of my three workouts. I know I am bad. I think a combination of bad weather and feeling a bit run down has put me off going out and doing things.
Week 4 started well with a jog on Monday and my favourite circuit training on Tuesday. I honestly am started to love it, I have a list of 20 activities and pick a combination of the ones I want each time I do it. Plus I can do it at home in front of the tv which makes 30 minutes go really quickly. I have also been a total geek and programmed my ipod with loads of 30 minute playlists with my favourite motivational tunes (I haven't got the Rocky theme tune on there before you ask.)
But after a good start my enthusiasm wained every so slightly and I didn't manage anything more that week.
So on Saturday of week 5 I went back up to Lincoln and managed the 15 minute walk to and from the ground (again bolstered by a 2-1 win, the third in a row I might add.) Then again back to Kettering where I would like to say I went for a run, but I would be kidding myself, it was a quick jog. Then once again I didn't manage to squeeze in another one all week.
I have actually felt quite guilty about this, as I am trying to show everyone out there how easy it is to fit it in day-to-day life, but I now have a new focus to keep me motivated - the sport relief mile.
Hopefully I will have an online sponsorship form set up by my next blog so if anyone is actually reading this - other than the people in the office - and are feeling generous I would appreciate the support.
On a last, totally unrelated point, I would like to wish Lincoln City manager well and a speedy recovery as he has been diagnosed with throat cancer.

Weeks 2 and 3
I am starting my second blog with a couple of apologies - first for my slackness in updating it and secondly to the people who live under my flat (which will become clear later.)
So week 2 began full of impetus - I went back to my home town to watch my beloved Lincoln City and so started the day with a 30 minute cycle, which I found much easier than the week before. So off I went to the football with my dad, who is notorious for parking miles away from the ground (once, on an away trip, he parked in a different town to the stadium!) But for once I wasn't moaning about it - I actually enjoyed the brisk 15 minutes to the ground and really enjoyed the walk back as the Imps had won 2-0.
Then on Sunday before setting off back to Kettering I snuck in another 30 minutes cycling.
So having crammed in three 30 minutes into the space of two days, I got a bit cocky and decided I was going to go to a cicuit training class - an hour of thirty second workouts, working just about every muscle you have. Surprisingly I loved this, even though it was really hard work. In fact I loved it so much I tried it out at home the next night when watching Eastenders - hence the apology to my downstairs neighbours.
Then on Friday a chaotic day at work gave me another opportunity to do some exercise - there had been a murder and Kettering hospital was having a press day about a new refit so I was informed at 12.10 that I was due at the hospital 10 minutes ago. So off I tottered to my car only to see the massive queue of traffic and realised my best option was to run - in my high heels. I honestly thought when I arrived at the hospital they would think I was a patient as I was completely red, out of breath and hobbling, but the more leisurely stroll on the way back get me a chance to catch my breath.
I even managed to walk into work one day too giving me a total of seven thirty minutes, without really trying and at very little cost.
Then just as I am getting into in week 3 I admit I lost my way a bit - another cycling trip over the weekend, and one lot of circuit training whilst watching tv but then it got to Friday and I realised I hadn't done my third one so off I went for a jog, which became the 30 longest minutes of my life. I need to learn not to go at full pelt to start off with then be ready to drop after five minutes, but I guess this will come with time.
Now that I am three weeks in I am actually beginning to notice some changes, my trousers are actually too big, I don't get out of breath so much and am finding it easier to do the full half an hour in a solid block.
I feel now I have put the ground work in I am less likely to make a total show of myself in new sports. I think I am finally ready to get into some different activities so bring on the rugby, football and hockey.

Week 1
I have to say as 25 year olds go, I'm pretty unfit. At school I loved netball, hockey, running, swimming and was involved in some form of exercise every day, but then I went of to Uni and lost my way.
So when I found out about the Get Active campaign I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get my fitness levels up, lose some weight and meet some new people.
Usually, I would throw myself straight in at the deep end and give up after a week, but I am in this for the long haul and thought I would ease myself into it with a bike ride.
Surprisingly thirty minutes passed really quickly and I felt really good after it, although a little bit stiff the next morning.
So with my new sense of over confidence I threw myself into workout number two - a two hour volleyball session, probably not my smartest decision. I used to train three times a week so thought this would be easy, but I had forgotten to factor in that this was seven years ago. To be honest I was exhausted after the warm up and that was only 10 minutes into the session, but I stuck with it, and although I was absolutely rubbish I did enjoy it. I am sure after a few weeks it will all come back to me - hopefully.
The next morning I did feel as though I had done ten rounds with Mike Tyson, but I am hoping that the no pain - no gain rule applies here.
For my third session I decided it was about time I started walking to work, and because I was on late shifts I decided it was the perfect time to start. Usually an 8am start is far too early to be thinking about walking in, but 10am was more realistic. I was planning on doing this every day, but the weather put a stop to that. Yes I am a fairweather walker!
So my first week has gone relatively well - I have managed my three lots of exercise and feel relatively confident I will be able to keep it going.
