Grrrrrr!!
Walking through Preston city centre today i was reminded again of one of my pet hates, people stopping in the middle of the street or even worse walking so slowly they might as well be stopped.
If you MUST stop please move out of the way so that people can still get past without having to risk getting run over - even better YOU stand in the road so that you get run over instead.
I have no objection to people seeing someone that you havent met for a while and needing to natter or whatever to catch up but please please consider everyone else around you and move!!! Dont stand in the middle of the pathway, dont stand in the middle of the aisle in a shop and dont block the entranceway of shops - dont you people realise you are damaging someones business doing that?
So if you see someone walking along teeth gritted and hands clenched - move out of the way!
My other pet hate is people with prams, i'm not a person who likes children and i will happily admit that. I like even less getting my foot run over by an inconsiderate person with an oversized pram especially when the child is walking alongside and the pram is being used as an expensive shopping trolley. Then they have the gall to glare at me! As if its my fault your huge monstrosity of a pram is taking up the whole path and you have about as much control of it as a drunk driver.
Oh i have no doubt that in the far distant future i will be one of those people, i will then take immense pleasure in running over as many foots as possible and i will make sure that whatever is in the pram weighs a ton - even if i have to put bricks in there!

Inspiration
After reading Every Single Day's excellent (and VERY true) further comments on bus usage i was thinking about what to write next and for the first time in a VERY long time i found myself at a loss - could it be that my moaning days were over? I had actually had 2 days in a row without anything irritating me.....and then of course it was inevitable that something would happen.
And the thing that happened?
My sister happened - now to be henceforth known as 'the diseased one' - she has been scratching at these spots on her skin for over a month now and it only seems to be getting worse, it transpires that she has scabies. All i can say to that is ewwwwww. To those of you who dont know scabies is little bugs that get under your skin and the itchy spots that appear are your skin reacting to their faeces. Ick!!!!! Apparently it is only passed via skin to skin contact which is why 'the diseased one' is suddenly all touchy feely when she never was before - i can only assume she is desperately trying to infect me.
Why!!!! Why do these people who have an infectious disease or virus feel the need to infect others (and this applies to coughs, colds, flu etc etc) i dont want your bugs or germs, that is the reason during the winter season i tend to drive more - buses are a hive of germs and diseases and full of people like my sister who seem to be deliberately trying to infect you. There have been several occasions where people have sneezed on me or coughed on me and i can almost see the germs landing in glee on me.
But, short of living in a bubble i dont see any way i can avoid it - at the moment i am keeping my sister at arms length with a big stick but it is only a matter of time - more than likely she will get me while i sleep........
I avoid people who look ill on the bus and train in the vain hope that they will be courteous enough to avoid me. (fat chance!)
So if anyone has any suggestions, anything that doesnt involve living in a bubble - 'the diseased one' is already getting stuffed in there!! - on how to avoid getting infected it would be greatly appreciated!

Buses
Following on from my previous rant about chavs on buses brings me nicely to another of the things that aggravate me on a daily basis.
I am talking about the recent 'Preston Bus Wars' where Stagecoach buses have attempted to muscle in on all the Preston Bus routes with their own shiny new red buses.
As a bus user i had (note the had) no real problem with this (apart from the fact that Stagecoach dont actually go the way i want to them to go!!) it creates a bit of competition which usually has the effect of prices reducing and better quality service, however this doesnt seem to be the case here. Instead, i am accosted by people from both companies at popular bus stops exhorting me to use their service! They speak anxiously into their walkie-talkies asking for a bus in the hope they can get one before the competition, this has the effect of ruining the bus schedules. Joy. Also, i can quite honestly say i havent noticed any better quality service, you wait and wait for a bus and then 3 arrive at once - only now there is 2 different companies sending you 3 different buses!
And in fact prices have actually risen since the advent of the Bus Wars, hardly a good way to encourage people to use your service is it?
Which means as an occasional motorist the roads are even more clogged as i compete for road space with double the amount of buses than usual. It is quite frustrating to finally get past one giant bus that keeps stopping at bus stops only to find that you then have to navigate your way past several more.
If anyone has had a better experience of the current bus wars please feel free to reply!
Anyway rant over......

Moaning
Ok, at the risk of sounding 20 years older than i actually am by the rant i am about to embark on i will carry on anyway.
I was sat on the bus on the way home from work and these three chavs get on - now i dont have much of a problem with chavs as long as they are quiet and leave me alone, but the definition of chav unfortunately means that they are unlikely to do that.
Anyway, out comes the mobile phone and they proceed to play loud this loud rappy techno like music. Havent you people ever heard of headphones!!! I dont want to listen to your music as i am quite sure that you dont want to listen to mine and thus i act accordingly.
Now much as i would like to confront said chavs about their rude and obnoxious music playing i do quite honestly fear for my life if i were to do so, while not quite gothic in my dress i am 'mosher' enough to earn instant emnity from them. And after the recent tragedy where that poor girl was killed in Lancashire i dont feel brave enough to take them on.
So i did the only thing i could do, i put my headphones on and attempted to ignore the deep beat emanating from the back seat on the bus, quietly fuming to myself on how rude some young people are. (again sounding considerably older than my venerable old age of 23)

Explanation
Welcome to the first posting of my blog - it is meant as a place to ramble on about things that i would normally ramble on about to my significant other, however since the advent of the MMOG (mass multiplayer online game) World of Warcraft (think orcs and elves and fighting and stuff) i seem to see less and less of him.
I have tried to see why he plays it so much even to point of starting my own account (and paying £8.99 a month for the privilege!!) but after the endless quests of kill 10 spiders and collect 10 bear blood or whatever it begins to lose any appeal or interestingness (new word!) that it may have ever had for me. And i have a short attention span in the first place!
Anyway - i will attempt to write about things that interest or annoy me (of which there are quite a few) if anyone ever reads this feel free to send me a message telling me what you think, try to be nice - this is my first foray into blogging!
