Sat here watching my weekly dose of X-factor (go Rhyddian!!!) I was enraged by an advert from Heinz -pushing their 'Farmers' Markets' range of soups (accompanied by my favourite radio programme theme tune). At this point I sound quite sad.

But, having spent a long day helping my wife sell handmade-homemade Christmas puds at Lewes farmers' market, I was troubled to see the only 'brand' that such producers as us have, the 'Famers' Market' credibility, being stolen by a mass-producing, multi-national company that knows nothing about honest food.

A call to boycott this tinned affront should be bellowed by anyone who cares about where and how food is produced.

All those people who took the trouble to support the market today, please support us further by calling for the ASA and complain  - see here for a previous adjudication about Heinz regarding misleading claims.
