SEARCHING FOR GREEN, AKE & SHARMAN
Like many others I am researching my family history. Three of my great-grandfather's cousins moved from south Lincolnshire into the North Yorks/Co. Durham area, but it has proved impossible so far to trace their descendants. I am hoping that your readers will be able to help me.
Jane Sharman (born 1872) married James Ake, and in 1901 they were farming at Constable Burton. They had at least two sons - James (born 1899) and Norman (1900) - but may well have had other children.
Lettice Sharman (born 1874) married widower Thomas William Green, who farmed at Hutton Magna. Like Thomas's first wife, Lettice died within two years of their marriage, but we know that she had at least one child (Florence, born 1900), but she may have had another.
John Sharman (born 1875) was living in Barnard Castle in 1901 and working as a draper's assistant. However, I know nothing about his life after that.
I wonder if any of your readers might have anything to add about the lives or families of these three people. If so, I would be delighted if they would write to me at the address below.
Thank you.
Robin Sharman,

Tracing Jean Murdoch and Eileen Powell
I wonder whether anyone can help me to trace two cousins, Jean Murdoch and Eileen Powell, who were born in Harrogate in 1925 and 1930 respectively? They may well have married, in which case they will, of course, have changed their surnames.
Jean's father was named Tom Murdoch, and he had something to do with the motor trade; Eileen's parents were Jim and Edith Powell, who helped to run Edith's dad's dairy shop (milk, eggs, butter etc.) somewhere in the Cold Bath Road area.
If any of your more senior readers recognize the names and can help me to find Jean and Eileen or their families, I would be very grateful. I will happily refund any postal expenses and make a donation to the charity of their choice.
yours faithfully
Peter Baxter

Researching the life of organist, composer Edward
For some years past I've been researching the life and work of Norwich - based organist, composer and conducter Edward Bunnett, D.Mus.Cantab.,F.R.C.O. (1834 - 1923), an admired and popular figure in this locality. His youngest son, Reginald James Albert Bunnett (born 1879) followed a career in banking from Norwich via Mapperley (Nottingham) to York ( the opposite way round to me as a teacher). He then retired to Harrogate, where in 1967 he wrote brief biographical accounts of both his father and himself. As in the latter he stated that he had four grandchildren and two great-grand-daughters, it would seem likely that some of his descendants are still around. I'd be very grateful to hear from any of them who should happen to see this letter.
Yours sincerely,
Brian Sargent

Tracing the 'Bisson' family
I have been researching my family surname of Bisson, and during my research I have found that my Grand Father Charles Henry Bisson had two brothers.
One of these brothers John William Bisson I have been able to trace his ancesters, who are now living in Rainhill Merseyside.
The other brother George James Alfred Bisson, I have had difficulty in trying to trace his ancestors.
I know that George James Alfred Bisson left Liverpool about 1898 and went to live in Oldham, where he married Elizabeth Ann Fleming on 1stt April 1899, and lived at 22 Thekston road in Oldham. Where they had a son named Frank Bisson born on 19th September 1904.
Frank Bisson married a Lucy Bolton on 4th August 1938, Frank was living at 9 Sheraton road in Oldham and Lucy Bolton was living at 95 Burlington Ave Oldham.
Frank and Lucy moved to the Wirral Cheshire were they lived at 28 Gleggside Grange West Kirby Hoylake, where they had a son named John Christopher Bisson born on17 June 1939.
John Christopher Bisson married a Marjorie Shirley Melling on 24th February 1962 in Chester. John Christopher Bisson was living at 15 Argyll Ave, Curzon Park, Chester and Marjorie Melling was living at Skelwith, Kingsfield, Lache Lane, Chester.
John Christopher Bisson and Marjorie Shirley Melling must have moved at some time after they were married to Harrogate. I have managed to fmd the birth certificate of their daughter Sarah Jane Bisson who was born on 16th August 1967. They also had two sons Jonathan born in 1963 and Andrew born in 1964.
The last known address that I have for John Christopher Bisson and Marjorie Shirley Bisson was, 6 Dorset Close Harrogate.
If John and Marjorie, or any of their children who are still living in the Harrogate area, and would like to get in touch with me and help me to fill in some of the missing pieces in our family tree. I would only be to willing to let them know how large their family tree really is, and how far round the world it really stretches.
Ian Bisson.
