Music Classes For Babies And Toddlers Starting At

New music classes for babies and toddlers will be starting next week at The Cumbernauld Theatre.

Local Mum of one, Jill Shepherd, has made a life changing decision to start up a new business which brings together her love of music and children.

To mark the launch of the new classes, Jill is holding an open morning on 3rd February at The Cumbernauld Theatre starting with a free session for babies aged 0 to 15 months at 10.30am and a free session for toddlers at 11.45am.  You can book your place in advance to avoid disappointment on the day.

Says Jill: “I’m really excited about the new classes.  They’re full of fun for parents and children alike.  The Cumbernauld Theatre is a great venue with lots of free parking; I hope people will come along and find out what Rhythm Time is all about.”

Classes for babies can begin as early as six weeks old and introduce the baby to a wide range of songs, instruments and much more all designed to stimulate a young baby’s brain.

Says Jill: “The first year of a baby’s life is when vital brain connections are made.  Music at a young age helps to stimulate these connections.  Rhythm Time uses a combination of exciting instruments, song and movement to increase the confidence, creativity and co-ordination of the children who come to classes giving them, what I believe to be, is a great start in life.”

“Having a young son of my own I have seen at first hand how music really benefits a young child.” Adds Jill.

At around 15 months children progress onto the toddler classes which are cleverly written to help a child’s confidence, creativity and co-ordination grow – the three c’s.

“The toddler classes are great fun for children and parents alike.  Children enjoy lots of singing, dancing and are introduced to a wide range of percussion instruments.  They are also great for socialising children and teaching them to share and take turns in a fun way.   Children even sing a song to help put the instruments away!” adds Jill.
