Has the SNP's bubble really burst

Opinion Poll
The latest You Gov survey, published in the Telegraph today, claims that support for independence in Scotland has decreased whilst there has been an upsurge in those who prefer to retain the status quo. The Telegraph reports, nay, gloats, a 'healthy' two to one in favour of the union. It is this kind of biased reporting by all of the British media that is helping to hold Scotland back from realising her true potential.

While these surveys may give a very rough guide to current public opinion, they cannot be considered as factual or accurate. We all know that people will respond to a survey in the way the question is couched rather than respond with their true instincts.

Considering the barrage of unionist propaganda the Scottish populace are subjected to by a media overtly hostile to the SNP, 29% supportive of independence is quite high under the circumstances.

Were the SNP given the courtesy of honest, balanced journalism, and were we not subjected to the rabid pro Labour Party coverage we have to put up with in Scotland, I have no doubt that the percentage supporting independence would outstrip those against it.

It shows the tentative grip Labour has on Scotland, when although they are given mass media coverage in favour of their party, they can still only manage to acquire about 30% of the popular vote. Imagine how that support would slip were balanced media coverage the norm in Scotland.
