SETTLE FESTIVAL CANCELLED FOR 2007

I am sorry to bring you the news of this but 'Settle festival' has been postponed for 2007 and has been re-arranged for 2008.

The morale of it all is that there has been an objection to the whole thing which has delayed Settle festival gaining their license for the festival, after they were told it was pretty much a done deal.

My thoughts - Why do people whinge and object when things like this are organised? Is it not a good thing for the North West when a festival is organised, bringing good bands and a good atmosphere?

It's disappointing, especially when we know the amount of work the organiser’s have put in to it all to make it happen for 2007

... Its like Colne blues festival, they had the big outdoor stage which made the whole thing seem more like a festival and made it more high profile ...then some whinging neighbours complain and it all gets taken away, resulting in the Colne blues festivals demise every year after ... may I ask, is the whole country turning/resenting against live music at times?

Do things really have to be so complicated when a good thing comes around for the Northern music scene?

Anyway, please keep supporting 'Settle festival', they are working hard to make this happen and I'm sure they will for 2008 no problem.

Mark Dale and his team are trying to make a good thing happen, and I don't think there is anyway you cannot support it.

Please add them and message them on www.myspace.com/settlefestival the public opinion will have a big say in this i think.
