Hartland Memories
Was looking at the pictures of the destruction of Hartland school. So many memories..... I was a grammar school pupil - rescued from a lower than working class life by my intelligence. That school really did change my life. I later returned to teach there and found it curious to teach in rooms that I remembered sitting in as a pupil. The rooms to me still echoed with the voices of the teachers that I particularly remembered. Mr. Sutton with his 'bright white light', the fearsome Mrs. Tinkler, Mr. Dent who gave me a love of history. We were made to sit in alphabetical order - I sat next to a girl with the last name Mole, I think. It still seems so recent.
