Bike Crash Sunday 8th June
I have been neglecting this blogg for a while and thought I would put finger to keyboard and make an addition.

I recently had the fortune or mis fortune (depending on your point of view) to come across (with my beloved) a rather nasty bike accident on the A6.
between Ashford and Buxton, last Sunday.  The inccident was well attended by local first aiders,
so my vast medical expetise was some what redundant.

Being a helping kinda guy, I took the role of traffic cop.
Donning a 'high Viz' jacket I merrily directed the traffic around the
accident site and awaited the services, who duly arrived.

The point being that the locals, as expected performed with grace and a genuine need to help where they could.

The visitors to our grand area were split between those 'slightly interested' and those 'greatly irritating'.
On several occasions people actually demanded, "when would the blockage be cleared!".
For my part I took it upon myself to ensure that the good guys were treated with our traditional good nature
and provided with genuine re-routes for their journey.

The Bad natured one's...well they may still be out there!

To the lad on the bike...I hope all goes well with you
To the locals that helped...thank you
To those that offered...thanks for offering
To those who complained....bet a caravan is a pig to turn around in a country lane!!!

Slugs N Snails

www.hopevalleyderbyshire.co.uk

They have eaten me marigolds, night scented stock, and so many bulbs I have forgotten what I have planted.  To think, I actually carried a torch at night so I didn't crush 'em.

Well no more!  I am at war wi' 'em.  They're in serious trouble.  I need the community to come together and help me out here.  I'll provide free web space for any one who can come up with a destructive solution to wipe 'em of the face of the planet.  So there!  Had me say!

Get on the Hope Valley forum Gardening Thread and give me an answer.

Changes to www.hopevalleyderbyshire.co.uk

Regular visitors to www.hopevalleyderbyshire.co.uk site will note that things are a changing.  Sometimes when you're a web master (what ever that is) the mood hits you to just swap things about a bit.  Just to keep people on their toes.

I've changed the colours a bit and the forum has been embedded in the site itself.  On the whole I think it's looking a lot better neater and not a little spiffing.

Why not join the forum and let me know what you think or at the very least visit our guest book page and leave a note.  Hey I'll even let you promote your own site on there.

Snow In Hope Valley

www.hopevalleyderbyshire.co.uk

Snow at last!  The old adage comes to mind that “…at least our garden looks as good as everyone else’s for once”.  Life doesn’t get any better than taking a walk in crisp fresh snow and this morning was no different.  Although I’m still cursing being awake in the night watching the stuff come down.

As an adult you’d  think that the excitement of a snow fall would diminish.  But not a bit of it.  I still have that instant urge to get out there and cold.  Ok, so the throwing of snowballs is now a distant memory, but I love that crunch of fresh snow and I delight at finding a virgin patch with no foot prints in it yet.

Enjoy it while it lasts.
