Like Marvin Gaye once asked, "What's Going On"  The "New" Labour government here in the UK intends to increase the price of car tax, for those cars that they claim are gas guzzlers.

Whilst I don't know the inn's and out's of who will pay what, I understand that my wife's modest 1.6ltr Ford Focus will incur an extra charge, so gawd knows what it will cost the chelsea tractor (4x4's) drivers.

What brother Brown has not explained is, where will the money go.  If it was going to be spent on wind farms or hydro-electric dams, that would be fair enough, but you can bet your bottom dollar that it is needed to finance our involvement in other people's affairs.

Does the government think that we are all stupid enough to keep coughing up extra tax for this and that and still bother to turn out and vote at the next election.

The scary thing is, the Tories will no doubt ride back into power in 2110, give tax breaks to those who don't need them, which will mean the already poor will become the destitute underclass and the working class, who think they are middle class at the moment, will become the new poor.
