Updates
Hello everyone...
After a holiday, a week in Bourne, and a training course Bakerbands is back. A couple of bits of exclusive news to start off with...
*As many fans are aware, Evolution are "off the road" for a few months while Rick, the bands drummer, recovers from major surgery on his spine.
The group would like to thank the fans for their patience, understanding and support and in return are putting on a one-off acoustic performance (without Rick) at the recently refurbished Red Lion pub in Holbeach on the evening of Friday September 28.
This will be only the second public acoustic appearance the band have made this year so will be a special treat for anyone who may normally find the band a bit on the 'loud' side. Come along and chill and leave your ear plugs at home!
*After the awful summer caused a postponement, the 7th annual Music in the Park festival, will take place on Sunday (September 16), at Carter's Park in Holbeach.
There are ten bands on this year's bill, covering every aspect of music from jazz to metal, via country, classic rock and funk.
The bands appearing are:
Status Quo(n't)
Sirius
The Lloyd Watson Band
101 Proof
Hoverfly
Verax
Legend
Give Way
The Mark Wilkinson Band
Blue Mary Jane
Gates open at 12.30, with the first band on at 1pm.
As usual there will be an all day bar, food, a fairground, giant inflatable slide, bouncy assault course and other attractions.
Plus - a live broadcast from the Hereward FM Black Thunder Team!!!
Entry is £3 for adults, £2 students/oaps, £1 for children over 5.
Organiser Elliot Watson said; "Family/group discounts will be negotiated on the gate! As ever, all money raised goes to charity. So far we have raised over £10,000 at this event.
"You are free to bring your own food and drink, but please, no glass or bottles in the park.
"Last year we had over 2000 people through the gate. Help us make this year even bigger!
See you there!!!!"

URGENT INFORMATION - CANCELLATION
Over the past weeks, we emailed you with up-to-date press releases for a charity function - Spirit of 67. This morning due to circumstances beyond our control we have been forced to CANCEL this event.
It would help us greatly if you could run this information in your paper so that no-one turns up on the day.

Longfest
GLASTONBURY will hit the Fens this weekend when Long Sutton plays host to a three-day music festival.
Longfest 2007 will hopefully be held on the playing field at Peele Community College from Friday to Sunday, featuring 25 artists.
As yet the site is still not confirmed because the rain has made the ground very soft and difficult to put up stages.
But event organiser Dave Nash said that if the venue changes it will be clearly signed when people arrive at the Peele Community College, so rock fans know where to go.
Unlike the world-renowned festival, caravans and tents will be provided for people to camp overnight.
Acts include Give Way, The Pulse, Children of the Revolution, Blue Mary Jane, Retrolux, Hair of the Dog, Wilson, and Lloyd and Elliott Watson.
The event has attracted 1,000 people in the past and 75 per cent of proceeds will go to the Adderley nursing home in Long Sutton with the rest going towards new sports equipment at the Peele.
Mr Nash said: "I have moved the festival from the town's park because last year, despite charging £1 for charity, people thought that because it was a public area they could get in for free.
"Tents and caravans are available for £5 a night or £10 for the three days, and tickets cost £5 each for a one-day pass or £10 each for the three days."
Alongside the 25 acts will be a funfair, bungee jump, clairvoyant, cartoonist, members of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club and the Daily Sport girls. It is also open to market traders.
The event begins at 6pm on Friday and 11am on Saturday and Sunday.
HOLBEACH’S Music in the Park has been rescheduled to September 16 because of bad weather.
The ground at Carter’s Park was too soft for the two flat bed trailers that would form the stage, so the event has been postponed.
Ten rock bands were due to take to the stage on Sunday and oganiser Elliott Watson had promotional T-shirts and posters printed, which are now useless because they showed SUnday’s date.
He said he will have lost a substantial amount of money on the venture but is looking forward to the show taking place in two months’ time.
He said: “It’s disappointing but there is no way around it.
“We’d get the trailers in but wouldn’t get them out again. I played at an event in North Lincolnshire two years ago where they had to get a bulldozer to get the vehicles out.
“Subject to approval from the FA, which the club is sorting out, it will go ahead on September 16.

THE DRAYMAN’S Arms in Little London in Spalding hosts Adrian Byron Burns - otherwise known as the Groovemeister - on Sunday, July 29, from 6pm.
Billed as one of the busiest performers in Europe, Adrian is one of those rare breed of musicians who is dedicated to keeping music as an art.
He believes that the media are doing their upmost to kill decent music - Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass and Folk are treated as minority interests (In England especially!) and not as cultural landmarks to guide both the public and young musicians into new realms of understanding and self-expression.
A dedicated believer in acoustic music and the power of one voice to still have relevance, Adrian often plays in places where he is the sole solo performer the establishment has featured. He wants to see an upsurge in acoustic music and hopes that the American trend for house concerts takes off on this side of the Atlantic as well.
He has and continues to play in many festivals and has shared the stage with such artists as B.B. King, Luther & Bernard Allison, Robert Cray, Charlie Musselwhite, Nils Lofgrin,The Dubliners, Marva Wright, Louisiana Red, Otis Grand, Woody Mann, Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, Show of Hands and many others.
Adrian is also featured on the Rhythm Kings Album (2000) "Groovin" (he sings the opening track), and on the new album (released April 2001) "Double Bill" and has toured with them throughout the U.K. during the past two years.
He has made nine albums and has averaged over 200 concerts per year for the past ten years.
For the past six years, Adrian has gained fame as a solo artist, both for his fabulous voice and for his incredible acoustic work. He has garnered praise for his compositions and for the originality of his interpretations of songs by Hendrix, Sting, Lennon/McCartney and many others.
